Yea the NHRA rules around here are real tight. Its a shame that we just cant sign a waiver or release. To see the Hayabusa click off mid nines off the street and all the dude needs is leathers, gloves, helmet makes no sense to me. You think that sh!t is gonna protect him if he crashes? He'll be a parachute then a pizza at the top end.

As far as a comparison I dont think my 2.3 will give you solid reference. Its that 20g thats holding you down Nate. I would love to see you try the 3052 out however. I think you should be able to get on the convertor better than your current turbo. When I shut my car off the 3052 continues to spin for way over a min. I should time it! BB turbos are what every auto needs unless your at an hta68 or under. Just my .02c

Yeah, Im kinda tempted to just try and 3052 out just to see if it will whip at all, but Im in the same situation a you with the roll bar. It's kinda pointless to keep modifying the car to run quicker and make more power when you know the track won't let you run more than once. Up until seeing this thread, I was mentally set to put a cheap air/air fmic on and go back to an Evo3 16g figuring that would be simple/cheap and still be able to knock off legal 11.7-11.5's. But damnnit, seeing that 10 and 120+ got me re-thinking the FP3052 that my buddy has laying in his garage collecting dust. Thinking that it would likely be able to push 120+mph even on everyday tune and pump gas, just the question of will it launch on a 7.8CR 2.0 with the stock converter. Suppose I could always "sneaky pete" it.

11.50 seems slow to me so I couldnt stop there! I say go for it

Yea I drove over 200 miles, paid $35 went 1 1/2 passes and went home. Sucks..I was thinking about a 6 point with 2 removable swingouts. Just pull them out around town and its legal at the track. They also said I need a scatter shield for the trans. I wonder if a 5 speed one would work or do they sell an auto one??

Sick car congrats. You drive that thing around town (rocky hill). I swear I remember seeing that thing around the silas deane or back roads.

That's some awesome times. Very nice set up. Gives me hope on my new build which is an Auto. I'm surprised they were breaking your balls about the scattershield. One of the guys in my club has an auto 97 GSX and he runs mid 9's with no shield and never gets harassed by the techs. . . weird :-/

Hells yes I do. Tuning on various roads but I try and do it sporadically. Cops are everywhere..:sneaky:
Warp congrats on tuning that car into the 10's.

As far as the scatter shield the auto and the 5 speeds are not inter-changeable.
Yea I figured maybe someone modded a 5 spd one to make it work. I'll have to look into it

I guess it depends on the track. The techs at LVD in upstate NY have been on the rag lately. Etown is no better

Very nice run man. 10's on that turbo is badass and not everyone can do it..I have the HTA35R and am loving it so far... I'm not auto, but I can definitly say all FP turbo's shine and yes my BB spins forever once the car shuts down..

Just to give you the heads up, If you build the cage right and not get some generic POS, you can drive the car just as comfortably as you ever did. I have a 10 point with dual swing out's that you cant even tell is in the car unless you really looked. I drive my car 80+ miles to the track and am very comfortable. Im 6' 3" btw...

^ Thanks Razcal. Gonna do a 6 point Moly with removable swingouts soon.

The only thing that sucks on this car is the water cooled oil filter housing..What a freaking stupid idea Mitsu had designing this thing. In the 6 months Ive had this car its failed 2x and both times nearly cost me the engine. Ordered the Mighty Max straight filter housing with no cooling. Screw it, I would rather have my oil hot then all over the road. While the timing cover is off im gonna install the 2g head that Curt built for me and throw the 2g JMF Race and 70mm S90 TB on. Going to upgrade to the 272 intake cam as well. That should wake up the top end! Ill keep you posted

Cant' wait to see the results with the upgraded top end engine hard parts. You have my mind reeling with plans including a 100mm crank & ball bearing cartridge for this fall.:thumb:

Gotta go for a ride in that thing once it is complete. Can't wait to drop my 3052 in this summer.

Could always grab the early remote air-to-oil type coolers. Worked well on my setup. Also gave me a little more DP clearance.

Good luck! Nice runs!

I believe it was 8k thru the traps on 225/45/17s. @forcefed, I went with the Mighty Max OFH so problem solved. I did notice it runs lower oil pressure with the truck housing though.

Updates will be coming soon as I am picking up my new Metro trans at the shootout. Props go to ER for hauling that down for me. I'll be running the 3052 again before switching to a standard 35r with FP housing for some testing.

Man I love your car with the auto setup. Nice times that really caught my attention 10.7 with an auto tranny.:thumb: I am debating on converting to auto with a spare auto 2g I have here waiting to part out. Impressive!

However,do you think its the cam sorta hurting the topend or more so the auto tranny and turbo? I was thinking that the 264/272 was better for spool up and working with an auto tranny and would not hurt the topend at all.

I have the same cam setup as you and this has been a concern(topend) even though I have a huge borg warner that I have yet to install.

Its a combination of both but more so the loss is caused by the automatic. The 264/272 is the way to go without nitrous and this turbo (on my car anyway)

Cams make a huge difference on spool up but of course it does sacrifice top end..

Nice runs! I love my auto setup, especially at the track. I too need to get a cage in my car. Do you have someone that's going to do it and bend all the tubing? I'm thinking of picking up a kit from S&W racecar and having my buddy/fab guy weld it all in.

Drove over 200 miles back n forth. Cut a good 60' and ran a 10.54 right off the street at 32 psi. Standard 30r doin work..

Decided no cage for now

Got the second gear on my trans to work for now and its holding on still. Metro is on standby as well as a 35r but I think I will enjoy it like this for a bit.. I did install a 2g head and RVR intake

What difference did you notice with the 2g head and intake install ? Was it worth the trouble in your opinion ?

It was worth the trouble since I needed upgraded springs anyway. It did pick up power on the low end..

Did the converter brake boost at a higher rpm then before ?
So far, you are the only auto DSMer to change from a 1g head and intake to a 2g head and intake and nothing more..Your results are important and very helpful, maybe only to me :)

Seems to flash around the same as before..

I always said I would never ask this, but I have to wonder whats the quickest the 3052 has gone? I need something to aim for :D
