With the Factory MOD 2012 coming up on the 22nd, We've got to get things moving.

At the moment we have a Evo 8 Dash going in.

Coming up are the Black AEM Tru-Time Cam Gears, Zakk Lee clear timing belt cover, Down pipe cut out and hopefully a tune at Boostin Performance in Addison Illinois. Just in time for MOD? Hope so.

Here I will be posting the progress and wiring schematics for the Dash install.

Set the dash in for trimming:

The Rheostat is connected the exact same way utilizing the same colored wires. Green with a White stripe, Black and Black with a Yellow stripe.

The hazard switch is a bit different. I'm thinking using the stock switch and using a relay setup to toggle it on and off by piggy backing it. Or modifying the switch to fit the evo dash and use the evo button it's self. The stock evo switch is momentary where the dsm one is not. Help me decideeeee.

So far there has been about 1.5 inches. But it still isn't trimmed up all the way.

Well today,.. My tomorow. We will be installing some newly acquired parts. Mainly the alternator relocation kit. Which will provide the needed space for the bumper/exhaust cut out. Finishing up the dash at the same time. Getting it all secured and what not. Then on to a 90 degree -6 AN fitting on the fuel rail to provide room for the timing cover.

Stay tuned for pictures.

Installed the Jay Racing Alternator Relocation Kit for a GM/Saturn Alternator.

Installed a 90 Degree -6 AN fitting on the fuel rail. Enabling the Clear Cam Cover to be installed. But that's after the AEM gears go on. Just need to find the time to do it.

As it stands we need to find a lost intake manifold bolt. Dropped down to the relocation upper block bracket above the axle support. Cannot find it now.

Manifold installed and engine bay is assembled. But we didn't do the timing gears,... We will though.

So far the dash is ready to go. Just a few more trims around the cluster mount to get the dash to sit properly in the car. Then we are going to have to trim the door panels to get everything flush. They have a small extrusion that pushes on the dash...

Once that is good we need to figure out why the seat belts aren't moving. Thinking it's a low battery problem.... Pictures soon.

Interesting work man, very unique! Can't wait to see finalized product.

Mocked up and trimmed away. Time to start securing it.

Secured, components going in. There is NO room to adjust the steering column. It moves maybe a centimeter. The factory column shroud fits with a bit of trimming.

Hazard and rear defrost moved to the Evo factory switch blank panel. Using the stock Evo dimmer module. The entire harness for the hazards was moved to the left side of the steering wheel. Then we fed dimmer outputs to the center for gauge illumination. The Evo's factory A/C vents on the driver and passenger side will house the 2.5 inch polk audio speakers that sat in the OEM Talon dash.

As I write this we are waiting for paint to dry on a few panels. Namely the ACD and mirror control panel and the center/passenger Hazard and clock panel (EVO) were painted black. We got the parts from an Evo part out and the previous owner painted them. We simply sanded it out with 600 (Wet) and sprayed 3 coats of high gloss black.

Dash installed and ready to go. Everything works except for the blinker lights being on when the motor is running. Have to track that one down...

Cam gears installed. Had some issues with setting initial timing but all is well.

Done for now. No exhaust cut out this time. Not enough time to fabricate it and relocated the O2.
