Do you hot tank the cover after drilling the holes? Seems like those metal shavings might get into the nooks and crannys of the baffle.

BTW, some of the best catch cans I have seen Calan. I plan on getting one.

Best way to remove the shavings is to remove the baffles, clean the valve cover and replace with the ones found in the frelance section here.

Custom bad boy. . . Yes it is baffle'd and big (size matters right?) ahaha

I have a valve cover with -10AN fittings on it. I am wondering if it will clear the hood on my 2g or if I need to get a different valve cover. I will have to put 90 degree fittings on it so it will be taller. Here is a pic.

IVe seen two of them like that. IF you get direct 90* fittings you MIGHT be ok. I think it will fall just short of the skeleton for the hood. If not you can always trim two 1"x1" square holes directly above the AN fittings. Clean looking VC though.

...I have -10AN fittings on my valve cover and they're welded at a 45* angle on the side and I had to run 90* fittings because I ran into hood clearance issues with 45* fittings. I've got my money on you having clearance issues if you're using a 90* -10AN man, you may have to do some cutting on the skeleton.

With 45* -10AN fittings on this valve cover I had clearance issues...

Yeah so i might as well just get a different cover then. Especially it makes it look a lot cleaner looking. Damn and the one I have is already shaved and everything LOL.

I run a Calan can, customized from his base designs to fit my needs, with two -10an inputs and outputs. Valve cover was done by Greengoblin. This won't fit a stock hood unfortunately. It's a bit extreme for most, but it solved my oil in the intake issue during track driving.

I'll be posting a review/explanation of the system in the road race section later this week. I only confirmed it fixed my issues this passed weekend at a time trial event.

Has anyone used -AN bulk head fittings? Seems a pretty easy route since I do not have a TIG welder. Wondering how they seal?

Here is a pic showing the non weld bulk head fittings

Thanks

Chris

There's a username I havent seen in a while. Welcome back.

I'd trust a bulkhead only if poly washers were used on both sides and only if I were able to somehow mechanically lock the nut to prevent it from coming loose. A bulkhead isn't the best option, but should be doable.

Thanks 99 :thumb:

It's been way too long & I'm super excited to have a DSM in the garage once again. I would def be using poly washers on the inside and outside of the VC and a locking nut if possible. I think I might try the bulk head route and if it does not meet my standards ill have the weld bungs tigged in by a local fabricator.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Chris

Calan catch can here, wish I could get more they work so well, probably only thing saving my turbo from my motor.

Well I can finally post in this thread. :hellyeah:

It's not 100% complete but almost.

Moroso vented can with dual -12an lines
I fabricated custom baffles for the VC

I love overkill

-12 AN fittings TIG welded in, no way these suckers would clear the hood with them mounted on top of the VC.

I know the bay is dirty, I'm pulling the engine this winter and will fill all unused holes clean and paint the engine bay, actually the entire car.
