ok so i bought a 98 gst for 1500 from fairfield in ca the guy said it had a blown head gasket so i took the head off got it resurfaced and put it back on torqued it to specs but im getting lower compression in cylinder 1 than all the rest i have 145 in 1 and 180 in all the rest i think its causing my car to run rough at idle im not sure need help thanks

wow thats a really huge difference. any thing over 15-20 difference to me id be shitting t25. one low compression like that wont cause a miss at idle. recheck your timing. check the iacv, and the tps. any cel codes. im 99.9 percent sure you have the timing line wrong. same thing happened to mines just a couple weeks ago untill i finally fix the damn timing. now idles fine. i had 180 across and one was 90. still idle fine. try timing again if that doesnt work i have a extra iacv bad but idles ok and an extra ecu you can test.

almost forgot, do a leak down test and you will find out why one is lower than the others.

im positive the timings dead on cause when i did the head gasket i made sure it was correct i was thinking ecu as well so maybe i could test that and the iac valve i really like this car specially since i had hondas before this but i cant get it to stop missing at idle it idles like it surges even when i rev it up
