Which battery are you talking about? As far as I know STM doesn't have their own battery. The only one I think they sell is the odyssey small battery. If you are looking for a small battery I'm not sure if they are ideal for a daily driver. I know alot of people use them in their "daily" drivers in the summer but I don't know if a mini battery like that one would have enough CCA to start a car in the winter if it gets really cold where you live.

I have an oddysey battery. It's great during the summer but dies quick in the winter.

Yeah, I'm looking for a good, affordable battery relocation kit then I'm getting rid of the odyssey setup.

Gofer is got a great how-to on how to relocate your standard size battery in the engine bay sitting lower in the same area and not having to extend any wiring or anything except for some modifying of your old battery tray. I'll see if I can find the link.

That's what I did. I removed the charcoal canister and dropped my batter there. But everytime I need to take it out I need to remove the catch can and tb elbow.

Have you thought of running a group 51 battery?

That would be my issue too that's why I haven't done it.

I've done it too but I dropped a new redtop optima in there so and I haven't had the need to take it out at all.

Anyone got a battery tray I can get? I think I'm gonna retry it.

Group 51? They small? See I decided against the stm battery because of the cca. But I've been going back and fourth with interstate batteries and found something that worked. I want the battery to sit against the strut . I don't want it to be crooked at all. I forget the model number but I got 9 inches to work with. I'll post pics when I get it. The shop Im getting it through comes back this weekend.

Yeah it's probably about 8" long x 6" wide x 7-8" tall. Tom here The Turbo Blog | Updates on my car projects, racing and other cool stuff has a video making a mount similar to what your talking about.

it's a civic battery. half the thickness and 500cca. It's about 1" taller though

I really like the way this guy did his.

Sorry it's been so long but I went with a interstate battery. Model mt-26r. It fits perfect against the strut tower. It's 110 from where I got it. I also made the stock battery tray to fit perfect the same way gofer did. I flipped it upside down, and bent the tabs to point up. And used two existing bolt holes. I still have to out the battery hold down. Heres the pics I got. Let me know what you think.

i put mine in the truck in the spare tire hole, simple, and easy

I didn't feel like buying wire to extend it. I chose this way because it was cheaper. I think it turned out pretty well

Thats what I did. Fits my Optima Red Top great.

I have the odyssey battery and Im not too happy with it. It does save a ton of space but if I dont start my car atleast once a week it dies. Im definitely thinking about going with a civic battery and lower it down like stated in the previous posts.

The specs on it aren't to good. That's why I wanted something that's compact and has power.
