So the other day I drove through a street with a ton of water, drove through it, didnt think anything would happen 3 of my lights came on the dash and I finally got the chance to pull over and let the car sit until the rain died down.

So now when im shifting or trying to shift sometimes it wont let me put it into gear and I have to let off the gas and keep trying.

I have tried a little test that i read online about checking the syncros and when i tried to put the gas into every gear the rpms would drop a little bit.

I checked my cables and nothing is in the way or kinked. before all of this happened i could put the car into every gear with the car off and on very smoothly.

I did look at my slave cylinder tonight and with the car off i can easily push the piston in and off of the clutch fork....is it supposed to be able to do that? and if I need to replace it where can I get an oem one at since people said the ones from autzone, advance auto parts, and o'rielly are crappy ones and dont last very long

so any more input would be great, i looked at the slave cylinder and had someone push the clutch in and the slave cylinder push the clutch fork plenty.

I drove the car around a little bit ago and trying to go from 3rd to 2nd it feels like something is snagged or blocking the shifter from letting it go into second

Also noticed that from a stand still and I try and put it into first it will feel like the shifter is snagged on something and wont let me put it into 1st.

Just don't understand how all this is caused by driving though a ton of water on the road.. really pisses me off

Same thing happened to me. i sprayed the shifter arms with pb blaster and worked like a charm.

Remember pb blaster is only 4 bucks don't be shy in spraying the hell out of it.

just an update again, took this video to help people out who are looking at my thread. I'm pretty sure my shifting problem is caused by whatever is loose. I dont know what the parts or called, but I think its that square thing in between the shift cables. So help me out and point me in the right direction. thanks!

If the engine idle revs go down when you try to shift into 1st gear, and the trans fights you, you have a clutch drag problem. Try this:

Jacks Transmissions LLC — Clutch Drag Kills Synchros!

Being able to push the slave with your thumb is a good thing. It means the master cylinder valve is allowing the fluid back into the reservoir. If there is no fluid leaking from the slave, then it's fine. Don't waste your time and money replacing it, because it's not the problem.

just looked again tonight about trying to adjust the rod on my master cylinder and its got a small leak so I guess it's just time to replace it.

Nabco made the clutch master cylinder and Aisin made the slave cylinder. Where can I get these the cheapest?

Also can I use these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/150860442239?item=150860442239&viewitem=&vxp=mtr#ht_3089wt_1186

I just don't have the money right now to pay $145 for just the clutch master cylinder

You honestly need to spend the money for a master from the dealer. Any other master will ruin your trans and have a very high failure rate. Don't believe ebay. They say it's an OEM replacement, but it's not an OEM master! The aftermarket units are a major headache for us as they ruin so many trannies. Spend $140 now, or spend $1400 later. Not worth going cheap on that part.

So i replaced the master cylinder and everything is much better! now the only thing I don't like is how low the engagement is. what do i need to adjust to bring it up a little more. the master cylinder rod or the clutch pedal sensor thing?

I'm having the same issue. Think Might get a new master? Oh and to adjust that it's the rod. The sensor thing is for cruise control.
