Sometimes i have some blueish/white smoke at idle and when i take off it puffs out a big cloud of blue smoke then its ok for awhile. Today i popped my hood and i noticed i had oil on top of my valve cover. It looks like the spark plug o rings might be leaking so im going to replace them and the valve cover gasket tomorrow but would that cause the smoke?

Most likely, turbo seals (check for shaft play), valve stem seals or worn rings (do a dry then wet compression test).

Oil leaks don't help either, low oil can cause burning oil, use full synthetic.

i have the same problem when idling blueish white smoke. i was told its the valve stems need to be change or worn piston rings i plan on getting my motor rebuild hopefully soon i had a hard time getting my car to pass smog but a cool guy at a smog shop i went to told me a small solution to help pass and stop the smoke from coming out while the car is sitting at idle i been using heavier oil like 10-40w or 50w oil and a bottle of this stuff called no smoke just to get me by it doesn't smoke at all since i been using it but using heavier oil gave me bad gas mileage with the 50w but good gas mileage with the 10-40w and the bottle of no smoke witch you can buy at auto zone or walmart it's been helping so far until i get my motor rebuild.

Check compression, turbo and valve stem seals. If the valve cover gasket is leaking you should be able to see exactly where it is coming from.

compression is 150, 150, 145, 150. my turbo has some side to side shaft play no in and out but i did notice a little bit of oil in the intercooler pipe.

While that could be it, your description of the problem screams valve stem seals.

Blue smoke at idle is most likely valve seals. Could very well be turbo seals if you are seeing it at cruise or exceleration

How white is the smoke? Cause you said bluish/white. Is there a significant amount of white smoke? Cause that would be coolant burning.
