Hey guys I just started having this issue with my car, after about 30min of driving and a little overheating my car will run on 3 cylinders and run very lean. I've narrowed it down to cylinder 1 by unplugging the injector connection. The weird thing is that it will happen randomly and then I can just turn my key off then on again and it will run on all 4 cylinders for the next 1-6min. It happens most frequently on the highway. I have 1000cc injectors with less than 2000miles on them. I am getting spark in all 4. It only happens after about 30min of driving so there is no issue at start up.

When it happens check for spark out of the coil pack for that cylinder. I bet it has something to do with heat. I have seen simillar problems to this before.

Like I said, I'm getting spark to all 4. I have a feeling it is the injector or injector connection. How do I test those things?

Are you getting a check engine light for it at all?

Not sure because I always have a check engine light on for an o2 sensor. I if I did have a check engine light what could that mean?

Go rent a noid test light set from the parts store to test for proper injector pulse. Also do a compression test.

I noticed today that it only happens on the freeway from 55-80 mph. That is the only time it will happen now. It never does it on normal streets just freeway speeds. It also throws codes P1500 - alternator "FR" terminal circuit and P0300 - random cylinder misfire. and I can still turn the key off and right back on to fix it.

Are you running a 1g CAS?

If so, please search. This issue (and its resolution) are all over this forum.

If not, post up a log as this will tell more than you have.

I am running a 1g CAS but am having trouble finding the solution. What should I look up? I've tried searching for a lot of things but can't find out the answer.

My car has the exact same issue, I have yet to fidure out what it is, but unplug your tempature sender for the computer and it will stop for noe. I just put a toggle switch for cold starts and once it warms up I turn it off. Only because it was never a big deal to me but I also would like to get to the bottom of it.

I thought it was in the stock ecu, but then I got link, it quit for a few weeks and started doing it again. It shuts off the injector for some reason.
