Big T28 - tuned for 18 psi with safc

I am wondering how much boost can i run once i get my head studs in?
Also how much power should my build be making at 18psi tuned?

I had a pretty similar setup to you about a year ago. I was tuning with dsmlink, and at about 21 psi on my FP (not big) t-28, i put down 270 on a dynojet. Im sure you could run probably 23+ psi, but that turbo definitely will not hold until redline. Mine would hit 21 psi at like 3k rpm, but drop to about 17 at redline.

At 18 psi, you might pull 325 h.p. at the crank if your tuned out. With the head studs, I ran 25 psi on a T28. Its typically a 300 w.h.p. turbo on most setups.

So you think with just studs i can safely run 25psi on a 7 bolt? Then tune it with safc and maybe take it to get dyno tuned?

Why do I need racing gas? I run 91 octane , its my daily driver

Are you trying to blow your car up or make it a nice DD with a conservative tune? You need to make up your mind, if your not happy with the power I'd suggest going bigger. I'd look into upgrading your injectors as well, atleast to 650's if your gonna be staying with the SAFC. If not buy EcmLink lite, sell your SAFC and make some real power.

what is better about this ecmlink then my safc to make power?

That's why i posted up in the noobie forum, where do you guys recommend to read?

Use the search feature and type in T28, also you may need larger injectors if you plan on running 20+ psi.

If more than 2 people tell you to read... i would read.. i have done the same and trust me. it helps.... ALOT. i have read a tone and learned a tonne. and the way to learn, it to read first and than ask your qestions.

just read and read and read.

this site is filled with HUNDREDS of hours of reading while learning new information about new things constantly. theres alot of knowledge out there

I'm a newbie too, I'm frequently on another forum, but come on here for reading and pics.

Check out the VFAQ and the 1000 questions site.

You can google search DSM Link and read up on it on DSMChips.com | DSM ECU Chips Enchanced by Keydiver, quite a bit of information on there as well.

Before you attempt to turn up the boost do some reading and don't blow up your car. It'd be a waste.

DSMs are a rarity these days.

Good luck and happy reading!

Ok. I know this thread is two years old but it said fp bigt28 questions so I didn't want to make a new thread. My question is does anyone make the upgraded wastegate anymore? I just bought a fp big t28 and should be here Monday. Just wondering if I should install it or if they make a upgraded wastegate still I'd wait so its easier to install.
