Hey so I found this website, good prices on map sensors and iat sensors, they have all kinds of connectors and stuff too.

Anyways. I was looking for the standard 3 bar GM sensor and in the process found this Bosch 3 bar with an IAT integrated into it. Its only 29.99. Anyone ever use one of these for MAP and IAT. Also they call it a TMAP map sensor, is that different?

Let me know what you think. Going to use it with a MAF translator pro for speed density. Is the GM simpler to wire up to the MAFT pro?

It looks like it should be fine. Be careful tho as some sensors are funny. I tried to use the delphi 3.3bar one, and it failed. They do not work according to the data sheet in the vaccum range. They were designed for a diesel so vaccum was no big deal for them. It would work just fine at wot and light acceleration, but it was all over the place at idle and cruize.

I ended up buying a 4 bar from auber instruments.

These sensors are oem for the vw 1.8 and 2.0t's. If I remember correctly, there were issues with the range not being linear when maxed out? I'd stick to the tried and true options. Is a gm 3 bar REALLY that expensive for you? The iat sensor is like $12. DSM'RS kill me, I swear...

No man it is not to expensive but if one guy can do this and it works then guess what.. I just saved everyone some money and reduced the amount of sensors needed by one. Someone had to jump in head first or this forum would not be full of stuff that is proven to work. I am a pioneer.

I have actually found a site where you can buy the 3 bar for $30 and the IAT for $10.. It is not the point of money. I came across this searching for cheaper options and the idea of being able to use only one sensor just seems neat sense no one else is doing it yet.

I have a small thread on something similar, but it's more about the fitment part. That part should be easy.

Back a few months ago I did a lot of research on the TMAP sensor setup. It's not impossible, and if you get this done, please update the thread.

The temperature sensor in most TMAP sensors are often the same exact sensor found in the standard GM AIT sensor (P/N 25036751) just in an integrated all-in-one package. This would be awesome because it's just one sensor, a very clean setup. I'm not a DSMlink person yet but from what I gather, under SD, you would select a standard GM AIT. Then for the MAP sensor, enter in the boost/voltage curve (or whatever it wants) for the particular sensor

Useful links-

That sensor you picked out (3bar), from what I remember in the research a few months ago, it was a very good candidate. It's pretty popular due to the turbo upgrade kit on some of the newer GM cars. Anyway-

This is some misc stuff

pressure sensors, oxygen sensors, temperature sensors

And this, I believe is the cheapest place I could find it, still need the pigtail though (88988320)
