After I dynoed my Talon @ 440whp I thought I hurt the engine so decided to pulled it out and get it checked. Turned out to only be carbon build up on the valve. Instead of returning it to the Talon chassis I decided to go a different route by putting the engine in a fox body. Excellent drag race platform, easy to find parts for, and CHEAP. No one likes to constantly replace drive line parts in a DSM or go buy way expensive trannys and axles so I found a guy in Ohio who makes adapter plates from Mitsu to Chevy which was perfect for what I wanted to do. I talked a local guy down to $700 for a caged Mustang shell with no engine, no trans. Again, perfect. After I sandwiched the engine to the Turbo 350 trans, and put the power house in the car, I took it to World Motorsports to do all the fabrication work. As of now, it is at the shop getting the wiring harness put in and then re-tuned.

Here are some pictures to date.

thanks for the support and kind words guys. crash89 there is a kit that comes with an adapter to bolt to the crank and then to a gm flexplate. everything from the plate back is gm. littlerazcal, thanks for blowing up my spot. haha just kidding, i actually contacted the owner of the popular 4g63 swap mustang before i even started this project to see what i was getting into. ill be sure to keep everyone updated on the mitsustang especially when i begin turning some numbers!

Sick.

I've got a 72 240Z Ive been toying with the idea of going 4G63 power with a T56, I've got to many projects goin on right now.

You got some balls for posting this on this this forum, I got ragged pretty hard for just mentioning I owned a gran nat a few years ago, I've got a 99 WS6 build a 92 331" NOS Stang my 90 TSi and buying a 97 GSX Sunday not to mention my Chopper build, god I've got ADD.

Everything is set and ready to go on my project but I am not getting any injector pulse. Fuel injector resistor box is good and even swapped with a known working one, MPI fuse is good but only getting 9 volts to it? But when I pull the cam angle sensor out and spin it by hand i can hear the injectors pulsing. Any ideas why it pulses when i have it out but not when i crank it? Any input is greatly appreciated!

the ground was wierd but now fixed.
its up and running. its only on wastegate pressure right now but i need to break the beast in with its new trans/rear/body. ill post some more pictures up soon and hopefully a good dyno sheet

Looks sweat, and i love the idea. That mudstang chassis is one of the best and cheapest to build

LOL awesome build man. Makes me laugh when people say "should put a V8 in that" I just :toobad: more like "You should 4G63T that!"
I'm think about doing the swap after my 5MGE goes out in the supra, best part is I know some one who's done the 4G63T in about 5 different cars (mustang, and mk2 supra being two of them).
For $800 I think you got a steal on that stang shell.

ROFL

Sorry, the only time I've seen anything close to that being done was in Tokyo Drift with the SR20 in that 68 Fastback(I think?). Meaning a 4cyl in a Muscle body. Nice to see though, sure as hell wouldn't rag on it, just not my "cup of tea". If I may ask, why in a fox-body instead of maybe doing the RWD conv. to a Mirage or something?

Either way, keep up on the build!!!

Good luck trying to find a drag launch suspension for a mirage, let alone all the fab work to attempt to to fit a chevy trans or a proven rear in it. To tune the stang suspension will be much easier than screwing with any of that stuff.
As an update: I'm still breaking the motor in on ten pounds which is 330 whp. But it's still enough for the MitsuStang to beat street bikes on the highway :) . More to come.
