I just use an adjustable wrench or plyers it shouldnt be a lot of force to take it of and then I just spin it off. If you have a camera phone with flash take a pic under it so u can see how it goes.

It shouldnt take very much force to break free, ive never had a problem getting them off before even origonal ones, just be careful not to strip it or youll be trying again with vise grips.

Yeah you actually needed two wrenches there are two nuts one to hold the filter with the other to the line, i like crown foot wrenches for this application.

This is correct. If you don't use 2 wrenches you will twist the line off every single time.

I only used one wrench.

You have to use another to hold the filter. There is nothing from holding the filter from turning (the bracket isn't sufficient). The nut on the line is tightened to the filter so if the filter is just spinning than the line will just twist. Put one wrench on the filter, a line wrench on the nut and use them against each other.

im so mad at myself for this but i didnt realize there were two nuts down there. tried getting it off with the bigger one(the one that doesnt move) ended up getting so frustrated that i just said eff it and cut the line. then i saw there are two nuts :ohdamn: good thing i was replacing the line anyway with the fuel lab filter and line kit from stm! you can actually use the stock clamp/bracket with the fuel lab filter if you wish. just stick some foam pieces in between the clamp and the filter and your good to go!
