97 RS stalls almost everytime I start it, starts right back up afterwards though, I'd like to add that when I'm driving it'll buck pretty hard randomly.

I've replaced the crankshaft position sensor, wires and coil, running on new iridium spark plugs (problem occured even before all this and persists after).

I'm at a loss for ideas on what could be wrong with my car someone please help

when was the last time you replaced fuel filter? Cleaned air filter? little things, injectors clean? Your car is not boosted so it should be pretty easy to fix.

Where is the fuel filter on these cars, I just got the car a couple months ago so who knows.

How do I go about cleaning the injectors?

It has an old k&n air filter should I replace that? It doesn't really look all too red anymore kinda just black, tried cleaning it but no good.

It can. It can also cause a stalling problem. :thumb:

Probably why I've been getting really shitty mpg's, thanks for all your help everyone.

I will be reporting if any of the above has helped or not

if you go to autozone pick up a can of seafoam and put it in with a full tank of gas. that will clean your whole fuel system out. you wont get better milage (if thats the issue) till your next fill up. clean your idle air control sensor too which is on the throttle body. that can cause your car to stall and not want to idle up right away. with a misreading iac and map sensor that will cause stalling issues or your egr is not working properly also. try the seafoam its only 8 bucks then clean your iac and go from there.

Alright so I've changed fuel filter and its still stalling, changed air filter too I'm getting code p0300-p0304 in other words every cylinder is miss firing but here's the thing, I can't hear the car missing and if it was missing that bad then the car wouldn't really go anywhere, right?

Someone help please

I've reset it a couple of times and it comes back every time, supposedly all 4cylinders are missing.

Problem is I don't hear it miss, plus if it were missing that bad I wouldn't be able to go anywhere right?
Someone please help me, I gotta smog this car soon and I can't smog it like this

so you switched out with a brand new coil right? i forgot i had this issue before ended up being my o2 sensor and coil pack. now i have no problems. if not then your ecu might be bad or you have a bad ground some where. you should do a compression check also so you can rule out a few things internally.

Yes I replaced the upstream 02 sensor and coil, I should add that whenever the car stalls or bucks on the freeway the check engine light resets itself, how do I check for bad ground going to the ecu?

Also the ecu is under the hood in the 420a, right next to the air filter right?

I had a compression test done a couple months ago when I changed my timing belt and related components. Mechanic said it checked out fine .

No the ecu is inside the car behind the radio all the way to the firewall if I'm right.
For the missfie there is only so much it can be plugs wires coil compression fuel filter injectors
I would check the spark anyway u never know even that u changed the coilpack it may be defective. Happens all the time.
Also check ## fuel pressure ## pump may be going bad to.

ECU on my N/T is under the hood right near the fusebox. Dunno if the 99's changed it up or something, but thats where it is in my 96.

Yea it looks like that's where it is on my 97, its silver and the middle of it has fins or something of the sort right?

blown head gasket? blown head gasket can cause misfire but usually does not start right back up. Get you cars compression checked

The car stalls then starts right back up, I've replaced crankshaft position sensor, upstream 02 sensor, air filter is new, recent iridium spark plugs, new coil pack, recent wire set, compression test was done a couple months ago along with changing the timing belt, mechanic said compression checked out.

new fuel filter
new spark plugs
add some supremme gas and injector cleaner

seefome
clean the tb ( use car cleaner and or tb cleaner)

make sure you have no vaccum leaks

last but not least make sure your grounds are connected

Did the fuel filter two days ago, I smelled like gasoline all day LOL.

Highest I can get is 91octane out here and I've seafoamed the car already, I've cleaned out the tb it was super gunked up, cleaned iac, replaced tb
gasket as well, should I replace the iridium plugs for other plugs or?

What do you mean make sure grounds are connected?

Also what's the easiest way to check for vacuum leaks and where should I be looking for them.

Update:
I've replaced spark plugs for copper plugs and gapped them to .050 as opposed to the iridiums being gapped at .030 ran it on freeway and I'm still having p0300-p0304
Should I try replacing spark plug wires again?
Should I try replacing injectors?
I need help people someone help me

No point of randomly replacing parts. Check the spark on cylinder 4 wire / coil also u can try cleaning MAF sensor. But most likely if spark checks out u have an injector issue.
If u don't have a spark tester u can use a test light if u have one.
Get a mirror and look at injector wires maybe one is rubbing on something.
You defenetly need to do a compression test as well.
Check the color of ## oil and antifreeze might give u a hint if the HG is blown
U can also check for vacum leaks the easiest way to do so at home is buy a can of Carb cleaner and spray it on vacum lines as the car is running. Be careful do its flamable.

Don't mind spelling issues I'm Polish :)

The NT 2g doesn't have a MAF. I would verify the mechanical timing of the engine, check base ignition timing, and check fuel pressure if you can.
