Looking for someone in the Jax area that could help me out possibly sometime this week with replacing some end clutches in my car. I'm new to the area, so don't know anyone and the place I'm living would frown on me working on my car.

I can do it myself, just need some space, a jack and maybe some misc tools (possibly a clamp or press or something so I can compress the spring, I have plenty of hand tools). If you're willing to help out, or have never done one and want to see, I'll happily supply a 6 pack for the time. It's a pretty quick and simple process. I'd also be dropping the tranny pan to replace the filter and change the fluid.

I'm ordering the parts now, so whenever they arrive, which would probably be later this week, I'd like to get it done. I'm near the St Johns Town Center, but can travel to wherever.

Anyone? Really I don't need you to do the work, I just need a space and possibly some misc things on hand, like a jack, maybe a pan to drain fluids, or I can just pick one up. It'd be nice if you're not busy to just helping out, but I'm sure I could manage it myself. The parts should be here Thurs.

I would normally jump on that, but this week and next is the end of the summer B session and school is out of control. I hope you ordered the end clutches from John at IPT, they are way better than just about any out there and price isn't too bad. I did one on my GS-T awhile back and plan to do IPT end clutches and probably vavle body on my GSX. i am almost positive that I did the end clutches on the car, just pop off the passenger side and pull the wheel well cover out. If you sitll don't have it done in a couple weeks (early to mid August) shoot me a pm and I will see what I can do to help.:rocks:

Yeah, ordered from IPT along with a new filter. Unfortunately these things only seem to last about a year for me. This will be the second failure in about 2 years. Not sure why, but can worry about that later.

Anyway, was hoping for this week sometime as I'm going to be driving up to SC this weekend and either need it replaced or rent a car.

A year on end clutches unless your drag racing seems wrong. Did you watch the install video from IPT(youTube)? Give John a call at IPT and see what he thinks because his end clutches in my GST lasted until I blew up the motor ~2 years+. I didn't do a lot of 3rd gear pulls over 100 but still a year doesn't sound right for our transmissions.

Yeah, I talked to them about it the first time and essentially I was told "life expectancy is variable". I don't drag, but do run 20psi and only occasionally hit it, rarely WOT. So, I dunno. I didn't change the filter the last time as I was only about 10k mi on it, so that may have been an issue. I did follow the video closely, but the first time was the guy who rebuilt my engine. I also have the translab shift kit, a trans cooler, use synthetic fluid, pretty much everything I'm supposed to do.

Only thing else I could think of was prev my front mount blocked a good bit of flow to the rad and trans cooler and I know coolant temps ran on high side until I recent put on a side mount, so maybe the trans was running warm too and that hurt life.

But, anyway, any chance someone can spare some driveway space tomorrow evening? That's really all I need.

If anyone can help me out tonight, call or text me at

7 two four - 33 seventy nine

I'd really appreciate it, it would save me a lot of hassle, time and money. I don't need any help, just someone willing to let me use their driveway and maybe a table or some other surface to put the clutch together.
