If you do get a body kit, make sure it is a well made one that fits up properly. Those cheap fiberglass ones on ebay are horrible for fitment.

My vote is to either keep it stock (which is badass) or get a really nice quality kit.

There is just nothing like hitting your fiberglass bumper on a speed bump and having it rip off haha.

Body kits are for cars that are ugly stock.

This

If we were all rolling around in 88 Civic Hatchback's, I could understand a body kit. But when it comes to the 2g's (especially the 2gb Eclipse and Talon), they have that "modified" look right from the factory.

Sticking close to stock is the way to go. Small accents add style and class without going overboard. If you're doing road race or control adjustments then some additional aero is important, but going overboard like most kits available is just a bad idea.

I'm surprised there aren't more low-key kits that would provide some styling but maintaining a generally stock appearance.

Here's just the front lip cut off my '94 and replaced with an angled CF lower lip from a 1ga I got from some guy on here. Simple, stylistic, elegant, and functional.

That's my old 1g, the one with the ground effects kit. Ill post more pictures in the morning. Since then I've had a 2gb red spyder, a 1ga red gs-t, and currently I have my 2gb "talon" spyder. :) add me on fb if you guys wanna see some pics before morning. eric sevilla is the name.

Um, so yeah, found the ground effects kit at a junkyard. Polyurethane. They went over the bumpers, didn't replace them. The fender sidemarkers I installed myself, aftermarket. I wanted the EDM mirrors as well as rear foglight and front ambers, but didn't end up getting them.

i DID though, convert my 2nd 1ga's corner lights to amber.

I actually really want this kit too. I could do without the stock dsm spoiler.

I dislike body kits but I wouldnt mind a simple lip kit...with that said there aren't any I like so stock is the way to go IMO

Stock. Maybe a small non intrusive front lip. If you like the 2gb eclipse front bumper then you can use that. If you like the 2g talon twisty skirts you can use that.

I would almost rather you stance your ride, it may hurt function and eat tires, but i will admit that some of those stanced cars look pretty good.

This is a fairly old thread and someone bumped it.

Just to let you guys know who haven't checked the date yet.

How's this for a great looking 2g?
I can tell you, you'll get a lot of stares from guys driving Porsches and Lambos if you are driving around in something like this. For one thing they probably won't know what it is. Secondly, it looks a lot hotter than what they're driving.

I'd rather rock 20 year old faded paint and have focused time and money on performance mods.

The under hood shots is where it's at.
