Thanks guys!!! Please some of you dont get your hopes up for the car to make it to the shootout, theres just so much that needs done, while getting ready for the new born, baby room, and everything else that comes with having your first child... plus the wife will be off work for 4 weeks at minimum once he pops out..LOL so money will be tight. Im gonna do my best to get it there, but no promises!

Im gonna start on the bumper, rad, intercooler, and headlight hangers this weekend so im hoping that goes smooth! Can't wait to have this thing weighed once all put together!

Dude, thats exactly what im doing to my front end right now. Picked up 92 talon shell. Looks about like urs gutted. Lol. Cant wait to see it finished.

You have done alot of work in a short amount of time I think you will be able to get it done but I know what you mean about family coming first

Ok guys, I have been working my ass off to get this car ready for the shootout!
I got the frontend mostly done, just have to mount the bumper, and headlights! Then its off to paint, start doing wiring, and putting it back together! Also, once the bumper is mounted its going back down to Andrew @ frontline fab for intercooler piping and a new side exit exhaust!!!

Few parts I got in!

Once everything is done and welded, its getting sanded down, and painted to match the color of the car! Should look good

I thought to myself today.. "dsm tuners has been very quiet without updates from Dave" Decided to type yourame into the search and this is the first thing to show up and its bad ass! Its sad to see your old chassis junked but the new roller was definatley cheaper then getting the new cage put in the old chassis. AWESOME progress. Congrats on the baby on the way! I really want a tube front end put in my car and this looks so awesome. Im looking to do it myswelf though to save cash and weight, mine wont be as pretty if the job ever gets started. Hope to see ya at the shootout but if ya dont make it its understandable.

If your looking for a lighter driver for your car I'll GLADLY take it down the track for you.
I hope I dont see this car get parted out and it continues to get faster but if it does I already have my eye on this car like a hawk!

Trust me this cars not getting parted out, plus the wife wont let me, I tryed! If i can get my friends to help me with sanding and the little body work, it will definitely make it to the shootout, but so far havent got any help.

If I lived closer you wouldn't have to ask for help. Im not the best at body work but even for moral support I could lend a hand. Cant wait to see this beast again at the shootout. meeting you and Justin last year was awesome.

Things are going a little slow, busy being a dad and all! But I have some progress. The car is definitely not going to make it to the shootout, still have alot to do, have to install new brake lines all around, do all the wiring which will be custom and only what I need. The body work still needs finished, then painted, door jams and all, which takes time. I have the roof painted black so thats done, and just got the engine bay painted, now the motor can go back in, and head down to Frontline Fab to have the intercooler piping made, along with a new SS side exit exhaust!!! Then wiring and so on... Here's some photos of it coming along, should be sweet!

New custom Gauge cluster!

Will the car have turn signals and be street driven anymore?

Just parking lights, and brake lights, no head lights or turn signals! I will drive it once in a while to local car shows but thats about it.. my insurance is $12 a month so ill keep it insured and taged.

Car is gorgeous- the photos do it no justice. The new color I developed is nearly identical in shade but is about ten times flakier than the old color. It will stand out in both daylight sun and the night time track lights like never before. The DCU2082 Stratoclear is working great, laying down perfectly smooth with hardly any need to buff!

Hey Dave looks good. What did you paint the engine bay with? Also, regarding the autometer speedo; how are you going to get that to work with the mitsu tranny manual speedo cable?

Thanks man.. the engine bay paint was the paint im using for the car. For the speedo, you have to get rid of the stock 1g cable and convert to a 2g speed sensor that is electronic.

Dave loving what you have done with the car. I first noticed it when you switched to the bat mo wheel. Are you still going to use that, or are you going with a standard wheel as I have seen mentioned I'm the thread?

so what are you doing with the old exhaust if your making a new one. maybe im interested since im running same setup almost and need to make a side exit anyway

Get to atl so i can drive my 2g with the new holset, and pull the 09 gtr out of storage, thanks to my uncle i love gifts.

What i want to see if yhou go 16g is to weld the gate shut and go for broke!!!!!!! Ohters have succesfully done it and with your driving, lite car and dog box it would be one hell of a ride i think, they just run out of steam to early in the powerband for me but i've never been in a 16g car with smim or dog box and good cams either...

best of luck dave, hope to see some great vids

Im sticking with the standard 6 blade holset from now on. I wont stop with it until i run a 8s pass, then maybe move onto something else.

The painting is finished, turned out better then I could ask for! Now just some wiring, 2.5 gallon fuel cell and its done! Then time to go race, and see what she'll pull off!
