I want to do a system with either 1 or 2 10s or 12s. Main concern is doing an enclosure. As you 1g guys know the floor in the hatch has a spare tire sticking out of it. How did you get around that? Also I would be willing to do an enclosure in place of the rear seats. Any ideas would be great. Pictures also appreciated! Thanks.

The focus was to keep the full spare, so :sosad:. Although you can build a box facing up.....:aha:

Although this is a little too big for my taste! WTF ROFL ROFL ROFL

You can easily cut out the spare hump. Rivet in a flat piece of metal. I have road side assistance so I have no issues with not carrying a spare.

Build an enclosure around the spare? So it would sit on top of the spare, but still Make it easy to remove. I just cut out the spare tire mound today to fit my two 12s

Not trying to thread jack. But I have a 94 talon and I went to cut out the spare tire mound. When I got it off, their was another mound of sheet metal under it, is this the gas tank or the sheet metal around it?

It is the gas tank. You will have to pound it down to get the space, just be prepared to possibly knock pieces of junk in that spot into the fuel. You will want to be sure that it is clean there before doing so.

What would be the best way of going about that? Take the tank out and pound it down? Or while still mounted

@thomcasey was wondering how you go about pound down your gas tank?

Drop the tank, stick you arm in there and verify the top of the tank is clean, then smack it a few times with a mini sledge or the flat side pf a ball-peen hammer. Should only need to knock it down an inch ot two to get the flat floor.

I really want to do this. Got this from a post on here.

The eBay sub enclosure looks like it would work good with a freeair sub and a passive grill with removing the box and you could keep the spare. That's what I'm going to look into. Thanks for the link BigBird94.
