except for my head unit, my interior is completely stock, so obviously it's quite bland. i don't have a lot of money to spend on some brand name racing seats and i don't feel like strapping myself in an ebay death trap, so i need some creative ideas on how to make my interior POP-- anything from carpets to seats to the dash, lay it on me. i might want to do something with the subi have set up in the back. Right now it's nothing special, just a box sittin in the trunk, but i still need the back seats to be usable. i have a steady hand and i'm patient so i can to do any crazy fab work, but i just don't know where to start. :aha: any ideas?

^^

Damn, that's probably one of the cleanest installs I've seen. I'd probably do something simlar with that, but one sub would be enough. But, my rear strut brace keeps me from being able to do that LOL.

Question, what happens when you need to reach for that spare tire, or fill the windshield washer tank? (assuming the owner still has em LOL)

My guess is he's got a quick disconnect for the wires and the sub box itself can just be taken out.

Just make one lower than your strut bar and it'll work ;) That's what I'm in the midst of doing (have a DC Strut in the rear and they take quite a bit of room). As for the washer tank, the filler cap is inside the hatch cavity when it's up so no worries there.

that's nice. is that just painted white fiberglass or is itt wrapped in something?

Check out this subwoofer box Iv always wanted, I found it on ebay

^^i've been debating buying one of those boxes for the last month or so now. i sent him an off of $115 and he declined. to me that box just isn't worth $150.

Make it! Sub boxes are easy to make and relatively cheap (materials aren't expensive). Plus it's a fun project to do.

At any stores like michaels or hobby lobby you can get gray vinyl that will match the gray interior instead of the standard pube fuzz gray.

i'd love to, if i had half the tools i used to before my parents got divorced and dad moved across the country i'd have made one long ago. a drill press, belt sander and table saw can only be used for so much of the project. since im starting an automotive technology program at my local college (HACC) ill have access to full shops, dynos, lifts, ect. so i dont see a sub box being too far out of my range.

Yea man my strut brace wont allow that

how hard is fiberglass to work with? is it cheap/easy to find? i kinda want to put 2 subs in the back facing inwards in the back corners but i would have to make a custom enclosure, right?

Kinda like this:
(it's an infiniti g35, but you get the idea)

One subwoofer is probably going to weigh more than the box, or close to it. If you want light weight and good sound, just go with component speakers, and an amp hooked up to the 6X9's.

^^ Thats what I want, nice & simple. Any awd 1Gs with subs n a strut bar?

^ I have that box, its really nice but I am thinking about getting out of the stereo stuff... anyone interested?!?! HAHA, anyway, yeah, that box setup looks really good, and sounds good imo. I am using two 12" rockaford fosgate woofers and it hits waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy to hard for my old ears!

does anybody have anything against vinyl wraps for interior trim peices? i saw an ad in import tuner, and i'm thinking about getting Wraptivo by meguiar's. is there a cheaper alternative? a 24x48 roll is like $80, and the installation looks basic enough to where i could do it. what do you think?
