Awesome! I doubt my new setup will be done by then, let along me have time to install it. I think you'll be lucky if you see my car with the external oil cooler and some clear headlights LOL

Hm, as for classes, how about most low, best stance, best interior, etc
 
It will probably be me +1 this year. I think my girlfriend is actually going to come.

I just got new tires for the car today, so I see no reason why I won't make it. :thumb:


Brian, if you need the help getting things set up before the majority of people start showing up, let me know. I'll leave an hour or 2 earlier.
 
I'll be there this year early. Last year I showed up when everyone was leaving.

This is the one issue with this meet - people don't contribute evenly. We shouldn't have someone spending that much on food if everyone pitches in.

I just don't know if we can get everyone to pitch in evenly without doing it forcefully (require a small payment from everyone to cover the costs). I'm still debating on what to do for the food, and I know it's getting very close to making a decision.
 
Either everyone can bring their own food to make (like a picnic style lunch) or the small payment idea, although Im sure that some people will try to get away with not paying somehow.
 
I have attended this meet once before and I had a good time but I have not returned since then mainly because of the location. By no means am I trying to bash the location but just trying to throw around an idea/proposal so that we can possibly get more dsms to show up at the meet. Its not that it was far for me to drive because I have driven much further for meets as long as they are worth it. I feel like the area is too secluded into the woods with not much to do so after few minutes or hours it gets kind of boring. Also if it was closer to Allentown are or even somewhere in North Jersey lets say Rockaway we can possibly get a high number of attendants from the NJ and NY area to come out and meet and we can propose a safe cruise from certain points or popular destinations. Again I am not trying to bash anything here just looking for other peoples opinions or ideas just trying to freshen things up and trying to have a higher number of cars show up and keep the dsm community alive and if anyone else agrees with this please speak up or moderators propse something or lets get some votes and ideas flowing around because for me that park did not do it.
 
What other "things" would you like to do other than hang out, check out cars, and eat food? I'm up for suggestions (probably not for this year though), but I'm unsure what else to do. People have asked for track days in the past but if we can't get people to chip in a few bucks for food, why would they want to help pay for a track rental. Other places that we've had suggested (closer to big cities) have wanted to charge ridiculous amount of money to use.

I'm open for ideas, but only if people are doing it to make it better and not so they don't have to travel as far. But last I checked, Philly wasn't very far at all from NJ.
 
Ill attempt to make it out.. I just googled it and its only about an hour from me. Not bad at all. hopefully ill have my setup installed and tuned by then but its my daily so its a little hard to get enough time to work on it.

As far as classes goes i suggest cleanest engine bay, most junkyard mods, and best paint.. I bet I qualify for 2 of those 3.. LOL

+1 on the idea of closer to north jersey, ie Rockaway. The meeting spot is over two hours away for me. Im not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but i feel that we could get more DSMs on the meet if it were closer to the NJ/NY area. I'm really not trying to be "that guy", all I want is more attendees, plus it would make food cheaper if we all split it.
 
And if I moved it there, that'd put it at 3 hours away from where my car sits (2.5 from where I live). Sorry, but I don't think that's going to happen. The Shootout gets plenty of participants and it's hardly near anyone. No, I'm not thinking this meet is anywhere close to the Shootout, but it just shows that people will travel to go to a DSM meet. Heck, we've had people come from 7+ hours away to this meet!

Food can still be cheap if we all split it. Just need more people to step up and volunteer to bring something! :thumb:
 
I travel 2 hours to come to it. I've been there the last 2 years and I like the location. Everyone always has a different opinion on how a meet should be. I for one like to just go hang out and chill, bullshit with people, and check out the cars. I don't like the cruises because people like to act like assholes and act up or do something stupid. The groups also get all broken up and people get lost. I say keep it where it is at and just offer different things like Brian is trying to do.
 
Well that's why I made that reply so perhaps other members can chime in and throw some ideas around and see what we want to do together as a community perhaps meet at one location and take a nice long cruise not idiotically racing just a fun relaxed cruise to a different location perhaps a famous or nice restaurant and we can still have the food and bullshit would even get to meet more people if we all sit together and no one would have to worry about contributing with food and money because this way everyone buys their own food and we can also go to tracks perhaps island dragway again this would bring a lot more dsms from nj and ny and I'm just throwing ideas around so the meet can only get bigger and better if anyone else has any ideas please throw them around reply here and yeah I was definitely referring to next year not this year since the meet is already planned and all!!!
