Im looking for a local machine shop that does performance work. Basic bore, hone, deck, line hone, and block o-ring. They must be personable, and do the machine work to my specs. I've called a few, and it seems they have very poor attitudes.

when i did my rebuild not one shop in the area ie. valley honda, pittsburgh crank, evanuik performance, or a few older local guys wanted to touch my block and all used the same reasoning. they didnt want to assemble my block for fear that it would blow up and they didnt want to be responsible for it. so i sent it out of state blindly and it was just as bad haha my rebuild was an experience i hop i never have to go through again.

There's a guy in my area that does lots of performance V8 builds, and he literally drives out of the Greensburg area to deal exclusively with DLK Performance & Machine Shop in Russellton, PA. Short drive off the Allegheny Valley exit from the PA Turnpike.

I'll give them a call. A little far, but it can be worth a drive.

The problem isn't so much finding one, but finding the right one. I had a shop I used in Phoenix for about 6-7 years. I probably did about 50 mitsu engine builds with their work.

I don't know what the deal is, but most machine shops are a-holes. I want to drop off parts, and a spec sheet, and get the parts back with those specs. What is so hard about that?
