Thanks! The turbo Integra ran mid 13's and the ElComino ran 11.9. The race looked closer because I must have beat him off the tree.

Lots of changes of the Summit for this spring:
Ported 7cm^2 exhaust housing, ported EVO3 manifold and re-circulated external WG (still 14b for now...)
Volk TE37 wheels
Big/light weight brakes.
EVO8 Tein coilovers with camber plates
Diet (car will be around 200lbs lighter, without looking like it is ;))

Getting really excited for the race season!

So, brakes and suspension are done on the PS! Next, I have to complete DS, which should be easier.

Last item in suspension upgrade are stiffer/shorter rear springs. I am starting out with 7 passenger wagon seats and cutting 1.5 coils from them.

Engine bay. Pretty standard DSM "go fast goodies".

"guy in the civic is ###### not too happy about rolling up next to that thing."

At 24 seconds you hear some guy say "Are you serious?"

Priceless.

Some more 14b fun:

First two runs had fuel starvation in 1st and 2nd gears. On third run, fuel problem went away (I have added 2 more gallons of race fuel), but I missed 2-3 and 3-4

Wow, that suspension barely lets the vehicle rock when you take off. That thing's really cool! Very inspiring :applause:

LOL at the commentary. Go Leon!

Thanks, Craig!

I finally upgraded my van to a 16G turbo. I didn't expect such a small increase in turbo size to have such profound difference on the tune, but it did! I really had to tweak the fuel tables. But the biggest difference happens when I keep the exhaust cutout closed! The restrictive stock van exhaust really chokes the engine at high rpms!

Fist pass was 12.08 @113. I lost to a bracket 11.8xx muscle car, but that was a great, close race!

Second pass was: 12.2 @108 (missed 3/4 shift)

This would have been an awesome kill, if I didn't miss 1-2 shift. But still fun to watch

Next challenge: oval racetrack drags at Seekonk Speedway (Sunday at 5pm).

LOL I love the race against the Corvette. :D I can just see the owner of the Vette in there like.... Come on! Come on!... How can this be?OMG I can't lose to that van!:| Nooooooooo! :(

I love sleepers also. There is a guy in the area that races an old beat up turbo diesel van on spray. He was running 7.2's last time I went to the diesel competition at the north start 8th mile track.

There is one for sale locally in the DFW area. I would love to pick it up but I would have to get a divorce first LOL. He was asking $1999 before he just threw up OBO.

Your van is awesome by the way.

I took the Summit to the biggest event I can do as an armature driver, 4th of July show at Seekonk Speedway (10,000 spectators). This has been an overwhelming experience! The support that I have received from just about EVERYONE has been truly unbelievable!

I ended up going 4 rounds and finishing 6th out of 72 cars. Not bad, considering this car's original performance :). But it needs more work, it was pushing too much in the corners...

Here is a video that a buddy posted on the Youtube:

Leon's Summit @ Seekonk 7/8/12 - YouTube

And this is what it looked like from a modified Fiero:

I had a great time at 20th DSM Shootout at Norwalk, OH! I chose to race in Max Effort class, because I have had some luck in this class before (taking 2nd place Dennis G., back in ’02 or ’03). I really wasn’t sure how this van would react to the AutoX, there isn’t any off the shelf modifications for this vehicle, everything I did to it, was adapted from other cars (mostly EVO8/9). But it did OK, good enough for 5th place among the autox cars and 3rd place overall in Max Effort (after drag racing times were added to the autox times).

This is one of my earlier autox passes (around 1:10)

And this is was one of my ¼ mile passes:

I would like to thank David Buschur for an awesome event (best shootout to date!). And ECM Tuning for sponsoring the Max Effort class!

I would also like to encourage more cars to race in the Max Effort! If a 12.0 minivan can take a trophy, so can many others! Give this class a chance it a TON of fun!

Leon, projects like this is what makes tinkering with cars so much fun. Doesnt get any more grassroots than this. A big thumbs up my friend.
