I was doing some research on dataloggers and all I found were either for 1g cars or just where to buy. I want to see what everyone else is using and what they think of it. I can't afford dsmlink yet so I am looking for a cheaper alternative until I can. A lot of problems I had with my car, upon searching, I found answers saying to use a datalogger or "this is what my loggers said" etc. The rre instructions say to use a datalogger when setting base timing so with that being said, I am going to invest in one. What do all of you dsm'ers use? Well the 2g guys anyway....

I read some on evoscan and thought about buying it. I just didn't know if there might be something better for cheaper or something better but a few dollars more.. I couldn't really find any reviews.

Evo scan is going to be your best bet... . I use it daily and it work great. Your car you can directly swap in a 98-99 ecu and wire in the flash connector(one wire) not present on 97's and have a tuning solution as well if you spend a bit more on more expensive cable. (though it is a bit steep learning curve for some)

You can Use this with Evoscan Click ->> Here or some people have got the Cheap Ebay VAG cable like Click->> This to work as well.

There also is ODB II Blue tooth adapters that work with Torque a Logging App for phones

I was thinking about this right here for 50. I'm not too worried about making tune changes yet, more like I need something to log what's up under the hood. I seen instances where it says a datalogger can help adjust tps, biss, base timing etc.. I want something like that. Will this be what I can use? at least until dsmlink...

Might have a hard time ordering from Jeff... .

See this from his home page.

Your best best is one of the 2 links I posted above... .
