Id just like to say to any soldier on this forum, thank you for protecting this amazing country of ours. The debt that civilians owe all of you can never be repaid in full terms and I would buy all of you a Evo if I had the money. Lol.

Should have goned the Air Force, but then again we have to test anything past E-4.

Air Force has it's advantages and disadvantages. How many people have you seen piss and moan about there job in both branches? I've seen quite a few from both! LOL I don't play the political games very well so I wouldn't have done well in the Air Force. Just my opinion. See you guys when I get back!

Josh

Thanks guys and this is the final draft.

My name is Specialist Leon*REMOVED*, my wife's name is *REMOVED* and my daughter's name is *REMOVED*. I was born in *REMOVED* May 23 1987. I graduated at Orange Park High School May of 2005, June of 2005 I joined the Army and went to OSUT at Fort Benning Georgia for MOS 11C; Indirect Fire Infantryman. I got out of the Army in Apr of 2007 and I came back into the Army in Oct of 2007 and went to AIT at Fort Lee Virginia to reclassify to MOS 92A; Automated Logistics Specialist. I have deployed with 2-12 CAV in OIF 08-10. I am currently a student at Hawaii Pacific University with 26 Semester Hours. I've served with the 25th Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 1st Cavalry Division, and now proudly the 130th Engineer Brigade. My short term goals are to become a Non-Commissioned Officer, graduate with my AS in Computer Science, and earn my ASE Certification in Automotive Repair and Maintenance. My long term goal is be Sergeant Major of the Army, leaving a positive impact on the United States Military. I want to be a NCO and follow in the footsteps of all of the great leaders before me. I want to lead and mentor not only soldiers but members of my community.

Sounds good bro, I think you'll do just fine! I still think you should be saying "I will" and not "I want." I just think it sounds better, like you're giving them positive reinforcement that if they give you a go, you will do something, not that you would like to do something. Good luck, I look forward tp welcoming you to the other side of the chain.. The transition is the hardest part.. Going from E-4 to E-5 in the Army is probably the hardest change you'll face! Good luck :) Let us know how things go after the board is completed! :thumb:

@2GJeremy
Thanks for the kind words man! People like yourself help keep our motivation up when we're not having a good day, LOL.

Well everyone. I was told an hour ago I'm not being allowed into the promotion board. Simply put my PT score currently is 223 my avg PT score is 220-250 over the last year with multiple PT tests. The brigade policey on PT scores for admittance to the promotion board is 260 or higher. I was told I would make an excellent NCO and I show more than enough potential to be a good leader.

I have alot of mixed feelings about this. At anyrate. I can continue to study as I have been for almost 2 years now with the same intensity.

On another note my last unit 2-12 CAV 1st CAV Divsion 4th BDE's policy on PT score for promotion board was 220 or higher. And before that with 4th ID 4AVN BDE; 220 or higher. So its only a policy not regulation. Army regulation simply states I am required to have a passing PT score of 180 or higher, minimum of 60% in each event.

It is what it is. Thanks again for cheering me on.

You have to look at their request to raise your PT score because you are setting the example for the troops you lead. The more physically fit you are, the more apt the soldiers who are your subordinates will strive to be.

Which area of your PT score are you suffering the most if you don't mind me asking? Perhaps I can offer you some suggestions how you can raise it.

Sucks to hear bro, are you able to get higher than a 260? If so you should request to do a PT test.. you already did all the hard stuff only to be pulled out because of the easier stuff.. You should try and do a PT test and do your best so you can get to that promotion board!

The day they notified me of the PT thing was the day the packet was due, so I'm going to miss the Tuesday promotion board. Next month I could make if I get a PT test before then.

I don't really suffer too bad in any event. I don't have my PT card at home. My percentage is pretty much the same across all events. Closest I got to a 260 in the last year was a 257.

I'm going back to my old PT plan I used to recover from my sugery which is run 2 miles everyday and add in some ab exercises to build more endurance

I spoke with the IG and they notified the unit that what they were doing was incorrect and against regulation. I was then notified Friday I would be attending the very next promotion board, so its back to studying for me.

I think my main focus should be: Introduction, nco and soldier creed. Army FM, AR, and DA numbers ref to their subject titles and concentrating on some faults I have like looking upwards when thinking of the answer, stopping talking when someone starts talking over me, not saying ah, uh ,um or moving my head when speaking

Promotable yet? Picked up yet? whats the deal we need an update!!!

Promotable by the automatic integration list. Not picked up yet either. I have to wait another few months before im allowed to goto the board again.
