Oh damn you guys are out? You were all long time DSMer's

Yea it was time. There were a lot of factors and it was a very difficult decision for me, but i've been on the fence about it for a long time and it was finally time to let it go.

I lost several thousand dollars, and have hundreds of hours of wrench time into the car, but with my current living situation (no garage space anymore) and other things i have going on i just can't continue to modify, maintain and enjoy the car.

My high speed endeavors will be on 2 wheels for at least the next few years.

Im debating on leaving..... have a fully built 420a and i got a offer on it a legit serious offer but if i got a gsx or gst i would just build the hell out of it since i would have a lot of money to put into it...but fast car=tickets if your not smart about it

I'm about to part my way out of the community BUT still help on fabing parts for the people who stay and new commers to the community. I will also get parts and cars and sell them for cheap or part out to help the DSM's stay arround for another few years.

1994 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD FS/WTT/PART OUT PM ME.
2nd owner
No accidents
Just restored and allot of new parts

I'm about to part my way out of the community

:nono: Part outs...SMH.

BTW, my old girl is still kicking with the new owner and turned some 11s with a fragged 3rd syncro and slippy 2600. The vid made me smile.
LOL

DSMs are still amazing. ;)

LOL, see thomas....every time i post on this damn site, somebody has something to flame me about....you know what, who gives a shit how many miles are on the car? it still runs 500% better than the POS dsm i had....and thats all i care about. i sell cars (and work on them), i dont' need someone to "inspect" the car before i buy it, i know when there is something wrong with a car. i don't give a #### if its the rear end, the clutch or the entire freakin engine, at least its not a dsm!!

Y'all were saying that the dsm was a POS but so far all that has been stated is that the tranny had a clutch problem.
Said y'all tried longer bolts so apparently you had problems with the clutch not disengaging.
100$ says your problem was the clutch itself. Another 50$ says you had an ACT 2600 clutch. Just met a guy in my area who bought a car with the same problem awd 1g 500$. Car runs good. before he told me I told him why he was having the problem. He agreed.
He did same thing with a motor mount bolt. That and one other ACT clutch are known to give this problem.
Your problem was 100$ fix and some elbow grease. Oem clutch would have made it work. Just because your too lazy to research your problem and spent all your money on parts you didn't need doesn't mean the car was a POS.

Obviously it ran good enough to make the trade. My dsm is very reliable. I'd drive my 4g63t to the other side of the country no problem. It runs great.
And your on dsmtuners making a hate post against dsms. How do you not expect to have someone flaming which I didn't even think he was.

Uh.. When you click on a thread, it's best to reply to the more recent posts, not ones that are 8 years old ;)

Yeah I accidently got confused with another thread. When replying I thought there was only 20 posts and when I replied it was like 1300+ and I was like WTFuh? haha I tried to delete but tapa wouldn't let me LOL

So after 6+ long years I finally sold the Talon. I was 19 when I bought it bone stock from a used car dealer and a 19 year old just drove it away. I have spent countless late nights on that car and it was finally time to move on. This car brought many headaches, but also many fun times and I learned very very much through it. I learned how to work on my own car, how to tune, and so many other things that I had no idea about before buying it. I am buying a house soon and I didn't want to spend anymore time on this car and I wanted to sell it while it was stable and running fine. My next car will be an 03-04 Cobra. I want something more reliable at the same power levels and I wanted something V8 for a change. It was a crazy time and I will still be around here reading and posting. :rocks:

Talon, it's been real!!!

Haha, thank you! I hope so too, it could go either way... he is young and I tried to give him as much advice for the car as possible. We'll see!

Everytime i break down i tell myself I'm done. But never happens this year alone i bought 3 1g awd

i know it, i just sold my 90 GSX for 400$ and his 97 Gs-T. Il just be lurking around here until i get out of school and get enough funds for a full blown race machine. Can someone say stroker? one day...... One day...

I have had my DSM since I was 18...Im almost 33 now! I have bought and sold MANY MANY cars but the Talon always has a spot in my Garage....Its got too many memories for me to get rid of it now :) I guess I'll pass it on to my son when he is old enough.

Anyway..my point is just buy another car that's more reliable for your daily Driver and keep the DSM as a fun weekend cruiser.

First off I wanted to say thank you to this community and all the members who have answered my questions through out the years. This forum has been sea of information and has helped me build my final dsm project.

I sold my dsm (aka project bullet) today. It has a great new owner and I'm glad it went to the right person. If I find myself with another 4g63 in the future it will be in the shape of a EVO.

Good luck to all of you. Thanks Drew. R

The exact dsm that i searched so long for left the driveway today, never to return:cry:

I had planned on being a lifer, i didnt want to do it, but i had to. Life happened...

I'll be back someday. :thumb:

So soon jeez man. Sorry to hear that

Well i owned the auto car for two years. I should have made a pass this year, but priorities suck. But i owned two 1st gen 5 speed cars before that. Been around a little while, my account on another site dated back to 03' iirc.

It just didnt make sense to let it sit in a barn on the other side of the state for the next two and half years. I'll grab be another one in 2015 sometime. Me and my wife will be out of school and hopefully established by then. Then i can really build one the way it deserves. Anyway its been fun.

This olde phart has been having too much fun. It's time for an old man's car.

In two days I turn 71 and on Christmas day my wife made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Yesterday I drove home in a 2013 Infiniti G37X coupe. It has 330 HP, a seven speed automatic transmission, and intelligent AWD. The same machinery as a 370Z but with two more seats and Luxury everything.

Compared to the Talon it seems to float over the road and needs to be urged to get to speed. But I don't have to worry about two more wheel bearings going out on the next road trip. The Talon was a hoot to drive but is just too much of a beast to make a multi-day road trip comfortable.

After my Christmas company leaves I will give the faithful old Talon a good wash, take some pictures and list on AutoTrader, and of course here.

I will miss the Talon but the Infiniti lowers the chances of my passing through the Pearly Gates sliding backwards and on fire.

Sorry to see you go Maurice. Thanks for all the contributions. I'll find a good way to host that document you PM'd me about somewhere in the tech section. Enjoy the G37 - it's a nice car.
