So I just bought a 93 eagle talon and decided to do a few cheap mods, so i bought a cold air tube from advanced and then cut the old rubber intake up and used just the 145 degree or so rubber end to connect the cold air intake to MAF. Then I cut the metal bucket so that just the flange was left so i could clamp on K&N filter in and have more flow without removing MAF. Since then my car idle searchs from 1000 to 1450 RPM, It drives great and I can totally hear the intake at 4500 up to 6250 which rocks LOL. I have search for leaks and have found none... Any ideas as to what i can do to fix this? Also I forgot to mention that doesnt do it cold but when it gets even a little warm it will and if i WOT thru a few gears and come idle it bounces faster for a minute the slows but still bounces???

Does anybody have a clue as to what this could be?

From what it sounds like is a big vacumm leak, when its cold the leak is shrinking and sealing, then when it gets hot it expands and opens up the leak, I would do a boost leak test on your intake. Do it cold then warm

I have done a rookie version of a vacuum test which involves using my hand and a cigarette LOL and I've gone through front to back on the intake and just don't see where the heck it could be? I'll do a more thorough test today and see if that's the problem. Thanks for your idea and if you have any other suggestions please let me know and I'll see if I can't resolve this issue.

yeah it happened as soon as I put the cold air tube and K&n filter on. I also cut the air filter bucket clear off except the rim that holds the whole unit together with maf.
