Alright so here's the deal... My father and I rebuilt my motor last year and got my car running around November. Around new years I installed the fuel pump rewire kit. Everything ran perfectly fine for about 10k miles. A couple months ago, on two occasions, I turned off my car at a gas station to run in for a drink, and when I came back out my car wouldn't start. Both times it started up a couple minutes after so I figured it got a bad o2 reading or something and was flooded.
Then about a month ago I drove to subway to get some food and when I came out, my car would fire up, hit idle speed, then die literally less than a second after. It did this for a while until it would crank and crank but not fire up. I went back the next day and ended up swapping fuel pumps and it ran fine. Since then it would fire up instantly and not have any problems.
Today, I decided to go to the gym. On the way I stopped and got $15 of fuel. After that I decided to do a couple donuts in the dirt on the way to the gym, which didn't happen because the dirt lot I picked was way too bumpy. Right before I got there, I had heard a rattling that I had never heard before (I started freaking out thinking it was the turbine hitting the insides of the turbo since I bought some used small 16g).
So anyway when I get done with my workout (2.5 hours later), I fire up my car, which fired up flawlessly, and did around 10 small rev's to see if I heard anything (which I didn't). I turn her off, and then a couple minutes later I try to fire her up and the same thing happens to me that happened at subway. It would fire up for a second and die. Out of nowhere, something happened within a few minutes to stop my fuel pump from working. I left my car and returned later thinking it may just be vapor locked, but no. I pulled the fuel line going to the fuel rail and there was nothing. The fuse on the fuel pump rewire was good. Also when I turned the key on, the fuel pump rewire relay made no click.
I did search and one person said his messed up alt. pigtail caused his no fuel issue, which my alt. pigtail is a little messed up too, but I wouldn't see how that's causing the problem if the relay isn't working. Another person said the stock fuel pump wire which activated the relay got fried so he had to run another one from the battery. I'm going to go back tomorrow and check all the wires with a test light. Does anyone else have any ideas of what I should check tomorrow? Could my 10ga wire from the rewire kit be grounding somewhere after the fuse and killing my relay/fuel pump (I was an idiot and put the fuse under the hood and not closer to the fuel pump)?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. And also thanks for your time reading my long story, I tried to provide as much info as possible
