I hope you are joking about this in the fact you are going to use money that is meant for the child and you are going to waste it on a car that doesn't benefit the child's health or wellbeing at all.

I'm the child, she's the one that left me. Don't go there.

I only made this thread to get peoples advice, not criticism. I wanted to know what parts are good and what are bad, and I expected this advice to be conveyed in a polite way. Not for everyone to be dicks and say that I'm asking for too much, I'm a stupid kid, I don't know what I'm talking about. If I could I'd delete this thread right now because its making me sick. Please, a little more respect people.

People aren't being disrespectful, they're being truthful. You randomly come on Tuners and make a thread after being here for less than a month. You have a bone stock (according to your profile) 99 GSX and want to go from 210hp (not even at the wheels) to 600+awhp. That's a pretty immature wish within itself. If you really are interested in building your car up then do the research yourself instead of looking for the easy answers. Research the parts and then if you're confused ask questions about a specific part against another (If there's not a thread for it, and chances are there is).

Do you have any experience with something more powerful than your stock GSX? I never cared about numbers because it's just that.. a number. I've put quite a bit into my Evo now (Probably around $9,000 after the car itself) and I'm sitting on 373awhp. The only thing stopping me from more power is my stock IX turbo but I'm not even sure I want to upgrade. 373awhp is no slouch, sometimes without even thinking about it I'll get on it out of a turn and by the time I look down I'm doing above the speed limit which can get you into quite a bit of trouble if you're not mature enough to drive it sanely.

I really think that this guy hit it right on the head and offered you a lot of good advice:
OK, coming from a guy that is making over 500 (engine built for about 650, but running a gt 3076hta)... I would suggest that you don't use the eclipse as a 600 hp road race / reliable car. It would be much easier to just buy an evo. Then you would have fewer teething problems. Or I can sell you my car HA HA HA HA. I am in the 30 grand club for my DSM (see build thread) and I am STILL not done with it to make it reliable AND have this much power. Hell I broke a AEM cam gear a couple months ago so she is sidelined and AEM is considered a really good cam gear. (the 5 bolt)

In all seriousness, if your stuck on the 600 number all the time. I have found that you need a bigger turbo than what you think you do to make that goal happen. So if you want to actually hit 600 on the dyno without building the shit out of it and being on the raged edge of the tune I would say get a 3586 hta. They are good for 730 hp on a well prepared car. But you will end up at the same place the rest of us are. Where your destroying drive train every other time you go to the track. I have gone through 3 trans, 3 transfer cases a diff and a buncha crap trying to make a fast car and I have 9 years of building race cars for a living (currently Jr year in Engineering). At 500+ power levels even built trans go boom, axles snap and drive shafts give up the ghost. I would say start with what the guys are saying. Learn to tune on your crappy engine (current) with dsm link or something. If you want to go big go with an AEM EMS with a AIM dash and see how it goes :). But I would encourage you to try these things on an evo. A stock evo engine with the right tune can take well over 550 hp with the right support (cams, turbo, fuel etc).

Take it as you see it, and if you really want to consider doing this then take it slow and do your research, maybe even consider just dropping it off to a shop and letting them know your goals and having them build it for you. I'm not going to tell you how to live your life or use your inheritence as it's your money, just trying to tell you to use your head before you jump into something waist deep and get stuck in the mud.

Good luck with your build and your future decisions. :thumb:

DSM/EVO Crate Motor | Magnus Motorsports
Motor^ $12,500
Forced Performance Turbochargers: FP HTA DSM82 Ball Bearing Turbocharger
DSM3582HTA ^ FP $1,800

DSM AWD Transmission Rebuild- Stage 4 | Sheptrans
shep stage 4 AWD^ 2,200

Tilton pedal box ebay $800

Ikeya Formula sequential shifter (which they dont make for dsm only evo) 9,515

Tuning AEM most likely- 1,000 @ extreme psi

AFPR-$250 extreme psi

FIC 1500 injectors- $400

Walbro 255HP x2 200 bucks

Then you have to have someone else tune it for you unless you plan on doing it yourself, figure another 1000 for an AEM tune at english racing prices; and all the other misc stuff you will have to buy. Motor mounts, suspension bushings, Catch cans, Intake manifold, Exhaust Manifold, hoses and fittings, aluminium radiator, < figure another 4.5k for that crap.

ok so i'll stop there thats basically what you asked in your origional post. your already looking at $34,650ish as Daren_P already said.... and thats probably only the tip of the ic.e burg, you gotta think about suspension etc... i don't think its worth it man not from a stock GSX DD if you have the money to waste though, there you go i just spoon fed you.

does this come off as ""im going to blow my inheritance and child support on my car"" to anyone other than me?

why is your mom paying you child support? is your mother also the mother of your child? i thought child support was one parent paying the other to support the child they had together?

i can already see where this is going and its going to go as follows

1. stupid kid spends all his money on a build
2. kid ends up wil either very poor results or blows up car due to lack of research and understanding of what is going on as well as impatience and ""RECKLESSNESS""
3. kid comes back to forums complaining of problems.
4. forum responds with "search" and "we already told you so several months ago"
5. kid wishes he spent his money on something better or holds it value better. like a house, or a reliable and good car to start with.

yes we are trying to be your father. we have all seen enough people in your situation to see more than plainly that you are not ready for what your attempting, or even thinking of attempting. your situation almost always leads to a blow car or empty pockets and by the time your realize this it will be far past the point anyone here can help you.

go build a 16g car. they are fast, fairly cheap, and easy to build. once you have that running well then come back and ask about 600+ hp
I could not have said any of this any better!!!:thumb: Young man if money is not an issue and you want a track worthy car get any 6 cylinder E36 BMW 3 series from 1993 to 1995(consider a 325 or if you are more daring an M3) to start with and call it a day. You dont need 600hp to go road racing.

what youre taking as people g=dogginh you is only people trying to help you. trust me, i'm 35 and by the time i was 25 i was making ove3r 40k dollars a year net, i had more money than i really needed in a 2 person househoold with my ex aqnd i spent money enjoying life to the fullest but still tried to watch my purchases somewhat (but still spent foolishly) now here it is 10 years later and i CAN'T WORK, for medicaql reasons and have a grim future ahead.. to look back i will qdmit the money was fun to spend the way i did but i really wish i would have invested it or spent some of it more wisely because now i'm battling for social security, just so i can afford the medical treatments i need and can't get without the medicare at minimum.

now onto the car, 600 hp is a lot if n9ot way too much for a road race car, i'm averaging in the 500hp range and my car gets loose on highway ramps, and even flat pavement in 3rd if it'sd the least bit moist out. to have all that in a turn where i'm trying to be competitive 'imm sure would end in many many spint outs/wrecks until i was classed as a driver qualified for time attack style racing. (have you even got your SCCA license yet?)

i'm not gonna lecture you but the "no robbed bank" part of the title should be more like "blowing my funds meant fdor my future and well being"

who needS a 9k dollar shifter, and if you have sequential shifter you need q a trans thqat can shift in that manner too if you know what youre getting into you'll see that you are heading to a road to headaches and heartaches not to mention money aches, cause when it's all gone and you're left with qa broken DSM loooking for a job you'll really regret this build.. take it how you want, i call it friendly advice, to take it as "BEING YOUR FATHER' only reflects other things in your life you haven't deqalt with yet that you need to face

Glenn pretty much summed it up. At the end of the day you're going to do what you want and rightfully so as it is your money but... we will all be waiting here to say I told you so.

You should listen to Dave Ramsey;) He'll help you get your finances in order.

I'm wondering what is the cheapest and most reliable way to make a 600hp road course and daily driver. I'm currently thinking GT3576 Turbo, Magnus crate motor, complete fuel upgrades, and ShepTrans. I know that all isn't cheap but I wanna know what else I would NEED. In addition, I want a Tilton pedal box and Ikeya Formula sequential shifter to make it all feel right. Race car feel, while still being street legal.

Cheap & 600hp same sentence = NEWBIE !!!!

Look kid I don't know how you are but this whole thread you made is kinda pointless, you contradict yourself quite a bit from your opening post so I'm guessing your either very young or a serious noob. I don't wanna be a dick as you re calling people around here for trying to lead you down the right path. Try to listen to some of the advice given being that is from experienced known members around here that are wisemen for a reason. Basically all I'm saying is read,do lots of research and learn to crawl before you learn to run.

400hp is plenty for a road coarse car . ever see the video of the 400hp evo beating the lambo on a road coarse .its driver and a good handling car.

Like stated before if you cant afford a Evo4 then you cant afford this build. I owned one when I was stationed over seas. It would cost you about 5k for the cat, est. 10 to ship to the states. If you knew anything about Evos youd know the Evo6 would be the one to own from thos older models.

Just throwing part names out there doesnt mean you know anything about building a car let alone driving one.

You sound to young to know better so spend your money on w.e. youd like.
