Thanks for the help and time DSM'ers!

These are the struts i got. Monroe 71296 Sensa-Trac Strut Rear struts by the way.
and I got some Mounts.
Duralast/Strut Mount - Front (143059) | AutoZone.com

The Boot kit/Mounts are way different from the original ones that were in it.
picture below of OEM mounts.

Also we put the struts on right, but after we lowered the car. The struts popped out like that, in case anyone wants to know why they were popped out. Not sure!!!

Ok so my Uncle and I were changing the struts on my car.
Please let me know what you think is wrong.
pictures below of the struts installed in the car.

head over to JNZ.com and search through the OEM parts for the rear suspension. you can get an exploded view of it. you put the components on in the wrong order. the part that has the bolts on it goes on last not first like you have it.

The struts and Mounts are not the OEM ones, they're different.
The picture https://www.partswebsite.com/stores/partsimages/partsF/F703150.gif looks different from the previous struts and parts that were in it before we took them out.

Is there like a guide or video out there that can show me what I need or what I am doing wrong?
I am going to try tomorrow to re-put the struts on.

Thanks for the help btw!

I would pull the shock assembly and recheck it. Make sure no parts are missing and that they're in the proper order. Make sure the cup (#12 in the diagram you linked to) is on there.

EDIT: The cup is fitted into the top of the stock dust cover. I'm not familiar with the dust covers that you linked to from Autozone but maybe you have to transfer the cup to the new one.

You forgot to install the metal washer at the bottom that holds it all together. Without it the mount bushing will just push thru the mount.

OK guys here is what I am working with. I have 7 Pieces and I believe I may be missing the " Cup " you guys are talking about.

If you can help me figure out what order it should go or what else I may be missing.

A lot of thanks for the people providing me with the info to put the struts on! Thanks :hellyeah:

I was looking at the old kit and it has this.

Just 6 pieces and the old strut. The dust boot thing, some honey comb looking piece :p , the silver pipe piece that goes on the strut, metal washer, and this black piece.

You are missing the lower washer still. There is one that goes below the lower rubber bushing. It goes in this order, bump stop, boot, lower washer, sleeve, lower bushing, strut mount, upper bushing, upper washer, nut.

Thanks for the reply bro, I was looking at what you were telling me, so I looked up the part on JNZ and came upon this picture. https://www.partswebsite.com/stores/partsimages/partsF/F703150.gif

Also these are the mount I have http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/aub/142419/image/4/

Thanks bro after re-reading this a few times. I finally got it down. I had a smaller washer, but I did not like it, so I put the old washer on top to cover it more. Let me know if this looks good. Thanks!:hellyeah:

If there is a smaller-diameter washer hidden under the larger OE washer in your latest version, then take it apart and remove the smaller washer. The larger OE washer should be directly in contact with the rubber bushing.

Underneath, in the OE set-up, the large and flat surface on the top of the dust-boot cap acts as the washer. If you aren't using the OE dust-boot, you must get a washer that is almost exactly the same size.

This is not something to mess around with. The washers that go directly on top of and directly underneath the rubber washers are critical and must be exactly where they were: in contact with the bushing; they help the bushing to maintain the correct shape and still be able to flex off-axis slightly, so you don't bend the shock's shaft and/or have excessive side-forces inside the shock. The third thing that is critical is the tube that goes inside both halves of the bushing, around the shock's shaft.

This shows the cup that we keep talking about.

Stock dust boot with the metal cup in place.

Dust boot with the cup removed. This is the top surface of the cup that the large bushing usually sits on. If not reusing this cup then you need to use a large washer below the bushing instead.

Opposite side of cup which slides over the large end of the bump stop on the stock setup.

Thanks for the help and time Wiseman.

I see what you're talking about, but I am not using the OEM parts.
Can you guide me with the parts I posted by chance?
If not I am going to have to end up buying the OEM parts and be out $60 on parts I bought /:

You know, looking again at your pics I think that I was wrong in saying that you need to use the stock cup. Sorry if I caused you any confusion. :)

In post #10, looking at the pic of the stock parts item #2 is the washer that goes underneath the large rubber bushing. In the pic of the new parts, item #3 looks like it might be used for that.

Not sure if this will be helpful, but here's an old thread about a similar issue.

Thanks for all the help I put the struts in a little while ago and the struts stayed in place. :)

Mr Wise-men was this the correct order of the struts? If so then we put the struts on right :)

It goes in this order, bump stop, boot, lower washer, sleeve, lower bushing, strut mount, upper bushing, upper washer, nut.

Thank you all for your help! Very much appreciated! Shes running again!
