I have a 90 talon going for 15 to 20 psi. Just wondering what is recomended and to what psi the diferent ones will hold. Its all stock internals with a small 16g. For Now.

im assuming your asking how long your stock head gasket will hold up?

That depends on MANY variables... but... with just 15-20 psi out of a small 16G i think your well within safe range for a little while.

now if your car has 150K+ miles on original head gasket then it might be a different story...

if your looking to continue to up the boost and move on to bigger better turbos... do yourself a favor BEFORE you blow the head gasket... and get a MLS head gasket ARP head studs and for safe measure ARP rod bolts.

The reason i say before... is because ive learned my lesson... blew the head gasket... didnt realize it, coolant got into the oil, spun the rod bearing... turned out being 5 times more expensive then if i would have just spent the few hundred to do it right ahead of time.

Go with the OEM Mitsubishi head gasket and standard ARP head studs. That combo has been proven to hold well over 450hp. MLS is nice, but requires the head and deck to be resurfaced in order to seal properly. And in all honesty MLS is overkill for anything under 500hp. If you have the stock headgasket right now, just throw in some ARP head studs and you'll be able to handle anything that 16g can put out.

I have arp studs now but whoever had the car before me didn't re torque after 50 miles. My head is currently at the machine shop geting decked and vacum tested so it will be flat when it comes back. Still not quite sure if i want a MLS or just oem. How much power would you estimate i could get out of a true head with the MLS.

It's not just about the head, the block must be resurfaced as well. It's also not about being true, the head and block must be a near mirror polish. Also, I just noticed you have a 6-bolt block so the stock head bolts are stronger than ARP standards.

Trust me when I say OEM will handle anything your 16g can throw at it. It can probably handle anything any bolt-on Mitsu turbo can throw at it so long as the tune is good.

I suggest OEM Mitsubishi HG
not jobber replacement.
