I apologize in advance. The interior hasn't been detailed yet, just a quick cleaning by me. There is also pollen all over the damn place.

Before anyone says anything, the shifter boot will be getting replaced with the stock black one, and those cheap pedal covers will eventually be taken off as well. I'm devising a way to fix my dash where it's peeling up...chances are it will involve some metal, some screws/bolts, and my friend's mill...when I start that project, I will be sure to post plenty of pics of what I did and how I did it, assuming it works.

Very very nice 1G. Fix that dash pad and spring for some suspension goodies next.

It's great that you have that kind of relationship with your grandparents, I can relate to having a mechanically inclined grandfather who's still active, mine's 93 and still holds his own.

Very nice. I like the wheels a lot. Good choice!

Extremely clean exterior. Gotta love the baby seat in the back. Not many people would do that as their isn't much room but gotta do what you gotta do. It's coming along for sure.

Drop and tint you'll be set.

holy shit nice car, twin to mine. i have a question tho, what paint did u use to spray on the rear spoiler and the top ? i have mine as matte but like urs better. thanks, and clean car as well.

I'm really surprised that the OP didn't say what wheels they are, what tires they are or what sizes. I'm also surprised no one asked.

LOL, same here. They are nothing special. Kazera KZ-I 17x7.5 wrapped in Kumho Ecsta 4X's.

Yes, they are all weather, harder tread rating of 420. I did make sure they were AA rated for traction, though. I have a 40 minute ride to work and a 50 minute drive home every day. I don't have money to be ripping through tires, LOL.

They came from TireRack.com. Friend of my grandfather owns a shop, so we got the wheels and tires mounted, balanced, and shipped for $785. A nice discount off the sticker price. I chose the Kazeras because they were in my price range...and were at least Low Pressure Cast, as well as shot peened compared to the other choices in that price range.

I have a really cool idea for the center hubs...but it's going to be a little bit before I find out if I can do it.

Looks like from your avatar yours is in good shape!!

I didn't do it, our body guy did. The original spoiler was ripped off in a minor accident years ago, and had gotten tossed. This one came off of 2 donors, LOL. I had the idea to see what it looked like black, like a talon. It didn't turn out as nice as I had liked...but he didn't have enough of the factory R11 color left to cover it, and I didn't have enough money to justify buying another can just for that...so black it was. I can tell you the R11 paint is from Kunkel Service Company. Chances are, whatever black he used is as well.

Everything I plan on doing is going to be a play off of the two factory colors, red and black.

Damn, clean paint job!
Just that peeling dash, shifter boot and the red trim should make the interior look primo.

i really like the wheels but i'm not a fan of the interior red trim. other than that, drop it!!

damnnn man, personally im a fan of 5 spoke rims on 1gs, but damnnnN, i gotta give credit where its due, thats lookin minty...nothin beats a clean 1g.

I was supposed to start repairing the dash today, but I got sick so I've been in bed since 3 yesterday.

My boss is giving me a tint waiver (I work for an eye doc). I have parts on order for the shifter assembly. I keep getting grinding, so I'm going to take it apart and install the new parts, check and make sure the cables are properly adjusted. When I take the center console out to do it, that's when the red shifter boot is getting swapped back to stock. ...Hopefully I don't need a new tranny yet.

I'm gonna keep the 2 red pieces of trim, I like it. I think it adds something to the interior.

The drop is going to have to wait. Tint will come first probably in a week or two and I still have more engine work to do. Exhaust will be within the next 2-4 weeks. Playing the tranny by ear, but I dunno if I can even afford it.

After that is done, the entire car is getting detailed. Met with the guy on Friday for a price. Claybar, paint sealant, 2 stage wax, and detailing the engine bay and interior. When that is all done, I will post more pics. Especially of the bay...it hasn't been clean since it left the dealership, I'm sure.

...I'm pissed I don't get to fix that dash today. It's bugging the hell outta me! Can't pick up a girl for a date until I do!

Awesome paint on this 1g.. Love your rims man, throw on a set of BC coilovers and like one of the other guys said DDM Tuning HIDS are awesome and super cheap, I put a set in my car for $50 and a set in my buddys Mustang...Look great and cant beat the price

It's gonna cost me more than $50 for that. I have to get a sealed beam conversion, then an actual HID kit. Electrical is not my strong point, and once I make the change, I don't want to have to worry about changing it back. I want it set up correctly so inspection won't be an issue.

well if you ever wanted to do a Sealed Beam converison and Hids it would run you under $200. And as far as wiring stuff like that its pretty much plug in play no wire splicing etc.

You need this ^^^

That car makes me like 1gs. Thats quite a feat.

I believe Sparco and Corbeau make them too, just google it. I saw a bride one in my neighbors EVO. His child also has a pretty cool mohawk, and has a powerwheels EVO just like his dads. If its out today i might take a picture of him tooling around in it. The guy works for a place that builds boats, so he make it out of fiberglass

...Im such a threadjacker.

Could you give me direct links for my lazy ass? The stock sealed beam is a 4666.

That car seat is pretty cool. Mine is much cheaper, but I thought it went with the rest of the interior pretty well. He's 3, and big enough now that I'm just using it as a booster for use with a regular belt. I'll have to look into the others.

Looks great. Not into 1gs, but id drive that one. Id make that dash priority one though.
