A terrible day yesterday. My mother was killed as a result of a drunk driver. I keep crying, wishing she'd pick up the phone and say "April Fools"

But the coroner, the blood.

I lost my mother, and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I feel I need to fix something, but there's nothing I can fix here. I can't fix this, and it's driving me batty.

I'm hurting, but i need to get this out somehow.

I'm sorry for your loss. I won't try an say the normal stuff. Like she is in a better place, which is True but I hated people saying that when I lost my mother last year. If you need to vent go for it if you need someone to talk to lean on us we r here for you buddy. I wish you the best an sorry for your loss.

Really dude?

Sorry for your loss. Nothing makes me angrier than drunk drivers. I have lost to many people for something so easily avoidable. If you need anything, let us know. Hang in there.

Yes, Really. As the first link didn't work, I was hoping that his morbid sense of humor had perked and that he had simply taken April 1st to the extreme as I have personally met him and we had a similar take on what's funny and such.

It's terrible to see that this is confirmed with the link you posted. Truly sad. Losing someone that you care about is never easy, nor are the years following on special dates related to them. One of my own is coming up soon this month.

I hope everything works out for you, Josh. If you need anything, you know the number and the inbox route.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the concern, and it helps.
I've already screamed myself hoarse. I've cried a lot.

I appreciate the offers, if I need anything I'll give you guys a ring. I'm a tad hesitant to ask for anything anyways because I don't want to take advantage of anyone's generosity for selfish gain. My car stuff can wait and I'm not going to abuse the situation just to finish my other car.

I've already pulled strings and flew from Mt Vernon to Ft Leanardwood MO and then to Pinckneyville to get my little brother home quickly, I just don't know how fast I'm burning through my karma. :p

And Kei, I couldn't help but laugh a little. I can appreciate it, and I SO wish it was. But it doesn't appear so. :/

Will do Lofty, If I need to, I'll call.

The hell of it is I'm in a Fixy mood. I need to fix something to feel better. Got the 92's booster and master cylinder swapped out, just need to flush and bleed them again. >.<

Why is it the drunk driver that never gets killed?

Oddly its because they tend not to tense up during the accident. Their reflects are slowed dramatically from alcohol. At least that's what I've been led on to believe.

I'm very sorry for your lose bro, it a terrible thing to encounter first hand. I'm glad to see your talking about it though. I lost my mom when I was 16 and I shut the world out for close to 2 months before I even spoke to anyone about it. It's gonna be a hard road ahead of you but keep your head up and stay positive. It's obvious you have the support from friends on here.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain/anger/desperation that you are feeling right now... :(

Hire an attorney and sue the living crap out of him in civil court. That way his insurance either pays out the nose (if he has any) and if not, whatever wages he has after he gets out of prison will be garnished for a LONG time. It isn't about revenge, it is about justice. This guy is in his 40s, he knows better and has zero excuse and should pay dearly.

Careful lofty, I turn on the water works, I might drive home in your car. :D

It does hurt. Seriously so. But our family was a tight knit group, and we laughed a lot. I think she'd want us to cheer up and find something to laugh at. Life's too short to spend it moping about. I know I will have moments where I'll shut down crying. But I know life goes on. And I'm sure we will be making sure he pays. He has a rap sheet longer than my arm, so he needs to be put away for a long time.

Really sorry to hear this. :( Time will make things easier. I lost my mom in 07. It's a terrible thing to go through. I'm glad you and your family and are close and can help eachother through this difficult time.

The day my mom died I had the same need to fix as you are having. I still had my N/T and I cracked my engine block a few months before. I was out all day working on it that day. And after the funral, I was out there all afternoon again. It really helps to take your mind of it and sort things out. Best of luck and my condolences. And again, very sorry to hear.
