REALLY??? Chrome wheels??? A Carport and an 80 piece tool set? First off, your clutch wont last until you drive it home because you dont know how to drive it! This is not even close to a car you should be learning on. And 500hp cars off the dealership lot is not even close to what this monster is pushing. Your making a bad decision and your going to RUIN this car. :banghead:

hey man, we all have our likes. as i said before, i don't have a garage yet and will get more tools. we all have to start somewhere, right?

The more posts that get added on to this thread, the more it seems that this is 1 huge April fools joke LOL.

@ OP
If this truly your car. I would highly advise on getting some kind of Daily Beater that is stick to learn on driving first. Park the car the second you get it, throw a car cover over it, and do not touch it until you are VERY comfortable with driving stick. While doing that, make sure you READ A TON on here, and any other related forums for info.

If you haven't already, get yourself a Haynes or Chiltons manual. As well as the 4G63 Performance book which can be found on Amazon.

No offense or anything, but I still think this is a joke LOL.

i downloaded the FSM from the maintenance link posted above. should i also get a Haynes or Chiltons manual as well?

not a bad idea on learning how to drive. i'll see if i can find a cheap beater just to pick up and learn on for now. my friend did say they'll teach me this week to at least get started.

i found out i should get a snell helmet and not a dot one. their more for racing. i'm looking into shoes and gloves next.

anyone have any tool kit recommendations? should i buy one of the 300+ piece kits or should i buy individual tools as i need them? i plan on ordering the timing tool kit mentioned in the maintenance link this week.

I'm not sure if I should suggest this or whether you even have time, but maybe get a three-pedal USB steering-wheel set-up and one of the better driving programs and practice. I, personally, like Live For Speed (not Need for Speed) and Richard Burns Rally.

Man, I'm really starting to hate you guys for making me sympathetic to the OP.

I did more work on my DSM than 99% of the people on this site. I did 99% of that work with exactly four tools: a 14mm socket, a 17mm socket, a 14mm ratcheting wrench, and a 17mm ratcheting wrench.

Plus a 10mm socket, 12mm socket, and zip ties. Done.

Tools to get....

Good floor jack and jack stands, but if your money is still thick and you have the room for it, just get a car lift can be bought brand new for around 4k installed.

Decent air compressor 40gal 5hp will be about perfect.

Torque wrench (Get the one from Brown Line Metal works, they are a vendor here $150

A leak down tester

A compression tester

A full range of metric sockets in 1/4 drive, 3/8 drive and 1/2 Drive both deep and shallow

Swivel sockets in metric

8mm-32mm wrenches

1/2 impact gun

3/8 impact gun

A coolant system pressure tester

Catch pans

DVOM.. a fluke brand would be good

there is more, but this will cover most of the general tools and engine tools needed.

i'd rather learn on the real thing, so i think having my friend teach me is the best way.

like a 5000 piece tool kit, air compressor, air tools..ROFL

OMG that's a lot of tools! i defintiely don't have the space for that many tools.

i'd rather keep things on the down low until i get more familiar with the car and am able to drive it. just don't want a ton of people that show up at my place. i'll be willing to meet up with some people after a little while.

thanks for that list! i've got some of that stuff but i'll add the rest to the shopping list and slowly start buying stuff.

i've seen a lot of fast drag cars have a wing like this. would this help if i put it on?

To the OP, good luck... I hopee you have a golden horseshoe buried in your... nevermind. The things you don't understand like why he gutted the headlight, how to drive stick, wanting to put ac back in the car... all tell me this car will be wrecked in no time. Its your money, do what you want. But please be safe. To the people ragging on Tim for selling it to a person like this... money is money.

No that little thing won't do anything, If you want to get a better wing that will make you go a lot faster, get one like the car in BogusSVO's avatar. That will shave 3 secs off the car in the 1/4 mile. I think Tim probly just passed because he wanted a stock look.:thumb:

Yes, my grammar was off just a slight bit. But I could not help it due to a long night last night with the police. Also for tools, get a pry bar!

If you really do end up buying this car, please DO NOT change a thing. This is a piece of dsm history. Just learn about it, drive it, and keep up on the maintenance, which for this car will be enough for a beginner. Not saying anything about you personally, but to step into the game with this level of car is a big undertaking.

Dang now that's a spoiler.... I think I could fit it on mine but I'm sure it would shave four seconds off my time ROFL!

That reminds me of the time that I was waiting in line to see The Crying Game and some activists ran by screaming "she's a guy! she's a guy!" Ever since then I have hated so-called "spoilers" with a passion that rivals only my attraction to effeminate men.

But I digress....

Ill take your non disclosure as proof of april fools.

This is depressing me and pissing me off...
OP, please buy a different car. There are plenty of fast 2 door cars out there. Go buy a z06 or something please. I dont want to see this car hurt, or you for that matter. I got into dsm's after seeing this car make a pass.
I would HATE to see this in the hands of someone who doesn't know about these cars, or even appreciates the time and effort that has been put into this car. No offense, but this is not a starter car, nor is it something to be practicing in. It hurts just seeing this thread.
I'm  this is an april fools joke.

Hey that line is from a game I play LOL ......
But I digress ..... Call of duty black ops-zombies
Sry random I know. When I read that it just clicked LOL.

I'll try harder next time. But why hate a phrase its just some words?

Wait that's going further off subject ignore that question LOL.

When I was six, a man broke into my home and killed my whole family (except for me, obviously). As he left, he looked me right in the eyes and made a rambling speech about Communists, the devil, global warming, and the price of Sri Racha hot sauce. At the end, he shrugged and smiled and said "but I digress" as he left the house.

Does that explain it?
