I never got to experience launching a DSM diff out of the rear end. But I have seen enough pictures of what happens when you rip it out. Its enough reason right there to just put a straight axle in. It doesnt even have to be a 9" or a ford axle for all that it matters. I chose the 9" because of how many options you have with it and I know I will never create enough torque to break it even if I get the ET's I am looking for. Happy to see more people doing this!

Hey that's cool, did you use ladder bars or a four link?

SUPERMAN UPDATE

Hey guys just a quick parts update. Picked up some carbon fiber pieces for the Interior. The carbon work was done by a guy on this site, I forgot his name, but great work. I also got my hands on some brand new FP5R/11R cams.

i wanna kno how you got a hold of a 11r cam. I bought curts 5r intake and exhaust. Can't find a 11r exhaust to save my life...

I want more updates... period.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about this car aswell. I just got my solid rear for my car last week. I got my c-clip eliminator kit, 3.55 ring and pinion, and 4 link kit today when I got home from summit. I have all the nitrous stuff set up in the car, but i've decided to keep the car a manual. The one event that I like to attend is Import vs. Domestics in Maryland's MIR. I'm thinking at 2500 pounds, 700 awhp should be all thats needed to run 8s. Damn shame the entire class i'll be in, will be in the 7s.

Same here. My Moser 9" is on order, having custom 4 link made, Richmond 3.55's, and DSS shaft is about to be ordered here shortly. This car made me switch to a solid rear. Dogbox is sitting right in my closet actually! LOL

Bring on the updates, Superman!

Did you get your self a shep dogbox?
I'm gonna go with the 3kgt rear once i find one!

No, sir. It's a Magnus unit, of course Shep/Magnus use PAR gearsets. I had billet forks, Evo 23spline shaft, 5th delete, and a few other things done.

Hey Guys, Sorry for the lack of updates. Been busy with life and work. I will be dedicating a lot more time to the car in the next few months. I am hoping to get this car done by the summer. The trans is still an issue. I am trying to find a used Dogbox to keep the cost down. No luck so far. Would hate to go auto; but, time will tell. More updates soon.

Keep your eyes open one might show up, i got my shep dogbox with a new ptt clutch with the bigger splines for a steal.

How much did that transmission cost you?

A lot more than I initially wanted to spend. I had a friend who ended up getting me a better deal to keep costs down a TAD. Should be bulletproof. Hoping to have no issues and only need to send it off after every season. PM me if you want info and initial costs.

keep your eye open on the Link forums if you're on there. They always tend to show up.
