Well are you daily driving or drag racing? Race version is for highest HP. Street version trys to shift the powerband down a little.

What turbo & cams will you be running? Profile says BC 272 & B16g, if thats the case, any SMIM will probably be a waste & actually make the car slower. There's no point in adding a SMIM unless you have a setup that can support where a SMIM makes power. A 16g turbo will not.

I might stay away from the Magnus Street SMIM. Tim Zimmer, a fairly experienced 2g guy that drag races, had some choice comments about the efficacy of the design. You can read them in my old thread:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bol...eet-smim-should-dei-reflect-gold-wrapped.html

For what it's worth Gixxerdrew, arguably our most successful and knowledgeable DSM owner when it comes to road course racing, found the Venom intake manifold to produce the best powerband for his goals.

If your going to run bigger than a 20g get the race but smaller get a street. If your running a BIG turbo get the drag. I have the race.

Actually, the drag manifold made more power than the race manifold, but you'll need to spend more coin to get it. It also spooled up sooner, this test was done on a 35r I believe. Tests were back to back. I would go with the drag manifold off the bat of you can afford it, it will spool up quciker than the race and yield better results should you ever decide to go bigger on the turbo end.

Absolutely the Magnus cast...and this is coming from a JMF Race owner.

Magnus cast if you have a 6 bolt head. Proven through testing and dyno to be superior. Search for the threads on it.

Airflow distribution.

Both flow well, but the Magnus has been proven to flow evenly from mild airflow levels to wild airflow levels. The JMF race design does not equate to even airflow distribution...and this theory has been backed up by my own real world experience. Cyl 4 on my car runs leaner and hotter than the rest, and i'm convinced it's due to the higher airflow to that cylinder because of the plenum design on the Race manifold.

I've got a 7 bolt head.

Will a 6 bolt intake work? I know the intake ports are bigger but I'm porting anyway.

If you want to run a 6 bolt manifold, get a 6 bolt head. You do not have enough meat to safely port the head. Also, you loose the velocity that the 7 bolt head is known for as well as it's superior design.

K thanks. I just saw more intake options for the 6 bolt head. It looks like all the port work in the head will be lost because of the stock manifold (due to long curved intake runners) so that's why I was thinking the smim will be better.

If you want a cheaper option, source out an Evo3 intake manifold or the RVR manifold and get a 1g TB to match up the inlets. The RVR manifold will need the TB inlet bored out to match, other than that, it's the same manifold, but both are a solid upgrade over stock.

When I'm upgrading to the smim can I just wire in a gm map sensor? I want to go sd anyway so I was going to eventually but do they read the same or will I have to tune for it?

Well you will need to tune to run speed density. I'm assuming you have Link?

I have ecu flash. I know I'll have to tune for the sd bit will it run normal with the gm map and my stock maf until I get my tune good then I'm going to swap to sd. I'm trying to decide if I should get the stock map bung welded in or just use the gm style.
