Hey I just realized that I put my intake manifold gasket on wrong when I had the head off. What sucks is the car is all back together with a huge IM leak.

With a 1G, what needs to be done to pull the IM? Will I need to pull the AC or what?

Remove the battery and the uicp. It will free up alot of room.

Good tips guys. I've always just removed the head to change the IM because it can be a pain otherwise. The ratcheting wrenches are god send for doing this job as mentioned above.

Well seeing how I just put my rebuilt head on.....I wouldn't wanna pull it back up:)

Agreed it is easier to pull with the head off, but pulling the head just to remove the intake is a bit overboard :) I mean, that takes a new head gasket, and resetting the timing belt again.

I found out that just removing the battery and UICP was enough, oh and the little smog thingy I pulled real quick.

I used combo wrenches. A ratcheting wrench would have been sweet. But it wasn't that bad..
