Am i able to change the motor in my 93 gsx which has the seven bolt with a 6 bolt non turbo engine and be able to put the stock turbo back on it without any problems because of the compression ratio differences.

No you can't the engines are completely reversed. And I'm not talking about just the 6 or 7 bolt I beleivr their are conversion kits for any that. Everything is just totally opposite. Take a turbo and 420a parked side by side and open the hood. You will see what I mean.

Re-read what year hes talking about. Both are 4g63. The n/a 4g will not have oil squirters. If you went with a forged set-up the motor should hold just fine.

I think he is talking about the 1g N/a 4g engine. In that case you have to do some things to make it work. Like the oil feed from the head to the turbo. It is possible to do tho.

Ah mistake, on a long drive home n a bit out if it my bad.

I am using the non turbo block with turbo internals and have had no issues. But as far as the non turbo engine in general make sure you have some way to tune it with the comp ratio being higher it'll definetly need to be tuned the oil feed line on the nt head is easy there is a pipe plug in the head that needs to be removed. Other then that it should be good to go for the most part the 4g63 na and turbo are the same in the 1g the biggest differences are the internals

The comrpession ratio isn't the only difference. Piston to wall clearance specs are different if I recall. It's been done but your results may vary. It isnt' that other guys aren't running 9.0 or higher but they aren't necessarily just putting in an NT motor. No squirters either.

dont do it buy a used turbo engine.even on stock boost your gonna be pushin the non turbo pistons.its not really worth.

On my old 200k na 6 bolt 4g63 i changed the n/a pistons with brand new turbo pistons and ran it at 26 psi for years with no problems

would i be able to use the pistons out of my 7 bolt or are they totally different. and even if i dont swap internals would i be able to run on 8 or less pounds of boost ive been looking for cr to psi calculators so i can see how big of a difference it makes and so far it makes a pretty big difference im not looking to race yet i just need the car running but id like to have a little fun with it too i have my first kid on the way so i cant build the motor how i want yet it just needs to run.

if you are going to be runing with the stock non-turbo bottom end then running 8 will be pushing it cause the crank really want take it running about 5 will be fine just dont dog the hell out of it

so what exactly would happen if i ran 8 or over. this is my first forced induction car. thats y i ask i dont know the outcomes of certain things yet

your bottom end want handel it and you could end up messing up the crankshaft, blown a rod or piston and even damageing the block your best bet is getting a forged crank and putting it in or even just putting in all turbo internals
