I went over to SIM on Saturday and test fit it on John's Talon. I'll post more about it when I'm less hungover.

I guess my car will be sitting in the garage a little bit longer.

That makes me want to get a 2g again.. Stop please

But I was just brought to attention by a friend... What about axle clearance? What thickness material did you use?

have you figured out a sway bar mounting setup for the rear yet?

Measurements indicate plenty of axle shaft clearance, even during suspension compression. But we'll find out soon enough as soon as this first one is mounted and driven on.

I have a plan for it, but this first one is going on a car that isn't running a sway bar. So, I'll be implementing a sway bar on the next one. It will have adjustable end links as well. :thumb:

All of the weldments have been tempered, and its going off to the powdercoater on Thursday. :thumb:

It was good talking to you the other night Paul. I really look forward to seeing how you tackle the front.

Kevin
You as well, Kevin. This front one will be tricky, and I plan to take my sweet time to make sure it comes together problem-free. The fixture turned out to be smaller and easier to work around that I had planned, so that's a huge benefit. I just picked up a horizontal bandsaw this past weekend and I'll hopefully be ordering a JD2 bender within the next week or two. Projects get easier as the tools list expands. :)

I'll post pics soon. Haven't taken any recent ones yet. Right now, it doesn't look like much more than the pic above. I've located all six mounting points as well as the control arm points. I still haven't decided what to do with the inboard compression arm pickup. I still need to pick Brilliant's brain on that one. One more fixture addition that I just remembered is that I need to do something to simulate the location of the steering rack. I'll probably work on that tomorrow night.

Sometime soon, I'll start a thread like this one but for the front k-member. Something that we can use to discuss design features and kick around ideas.

I'm finally poking around in here again... awesome work, buddy! I can't wait to see one in person. :D
