Let's start by saying i picked up a bunch of parts today..FMIC ,aftermarket headers ported polished , 38mm waste gate 16lb spring ,02 dump pipe , 20g turbo, MAF-T already have a gm maf 3.5...Plus a bunch of other stuff for my 2nd engine
Now my questions , keep in mind i am still new and learning daily :D
1st: How do i tell what version i have the previous owner didn't know .
2nd The connector on it is to plug into a 1g mas? if i am right :aha: is there another plug i need to buy to plug it into the gm maf ? or can i splice the wires? If so what colors , gm has pink black and yellow .maft has 5 colors on the plug in ,pink ,green, black grey brown
3rd Purple wire i don't need to hook up because it for nos ?
4th white wire , is that for the rpm wire or the cas wire ..To much reading some say cas others say rpm by timing belt ??
I wont be jumping into it hooking it right up . I still have lots of reading to do for tuning it and Still need to buy a wideband :thumb:

It looks like to me that you have the 1st version MAF-T. Usually they will write on the the chip or put a sticker that says 2.0x or something of that sort. I believe that you can get a pig tail connector and cut off the 1g one then wire in the 2g connector. here is a link to there website if you don't already have if, but they also have forum on there too and I'm sure someone there will guide you in the right direction.:thumb:

?? not looking to wire into 2g ..Looking to wire into 3.5" gm maf..seen the forums

So your saying that there's no connector to plug into the GM maf but there is one to plug into the stock harness correct? You should be able to go find a GM maf connector at a junk yard and then splice the MAF-t wires to the GM connector that fits the GM MAF you have. I connected my white wire to CAS. and yes your right the purple is for a AUX trigger.

The gm maf i have has the plug with the wires , but the maft has a plug on it with 5 wires..
If i splice them, what wires do i hook to the gm maf wires and where do the other wires from the maft go
The gm maf plug has 3 wires pink black and yellow
The MAFT has 5 wires going to the plug thats on it now ..pink ,green, black, grey, brown

The translator should have came with a plug for the harness that was either a 1g (8 prongs total stacked in 2 layers) or a 2g that has all in a row like a long plug.

Your picture shows a 1g plug for the harness. The maft should also have a gm plug on it that goes to the gm maf sensor itself. It is the 3 pronged plug with 3 wires only. The lone wire is the rpm wire for the CAS. You will have to splice it in. If your maft did not come with the gm plug, that is not good. You can find a gm car with one on it and wire the plug to the wires coming off the maft and they are the colors that you mentioned. A maft comes with both plugs and the lone wire to splice into the CAS. You splice it into the black wire on the CAS. It has 4 wires at the plug.

Ok if i need to wire the gm plug what wires go to what ..Maf has 5 wires to the plug ..only 3 go on the gm plug ..But what colors ..and where do the rest go
White to cas
purple=nothing atm
Black , red , yellow power acc grount

Maft plug/1g plug -Black, grey ,brown , pink , green

GM PLUG -yellow, black ,pink

So if i cut the 1g plug where do all 5 wires connect to, if i only connect 3 wires to hook up the gm plug? thats my issue

Ok let me get this straight.. Is the plug and the 3 wires that plug into the GM MAS go back into the translator box?

I may be mistaken but from the looks does all the wires go to that 1 connector plug? could be a maft for another car and not a dsm, you could search the forums for 1g maft in a 2g or 2g in a 1g. but the 3" and 3.5" gm maf will have the same 3 wire plug.

Called the guy i bought it from ..I had it all mixed up..The three wires i though was ground power acc, are the wires i connect to the gm maf plug..He has cut off his gm maf connector ..Now i just need to hook mine up to it ..
Do i solder the wires together ?

PO kept his gm to resell it LOL...I was looking and see i can buy the new chip/newest version ..does the old one just pull off..or how do i replace it ?

i have the diagram to do a direct wire in to the harness at the ecu connectors. all you'd have to do is wire it in there, then cut the stock maf plug off and wire the gm maf to three of the wires in the wiring harness. you wont have to worry about moisture and heat affecting the maft, you'll have less wires in the engine bay, and you can make adjustments from in the car. Winning. ill post it when i get on my laptop at home. still at work atm.

Never heard of this. But wouldn't it just be cheaper/easier to just buy a used "newer" version?? Do a google search of the serial number on the chip that you have. You might have the latest version but just don't know it.

That's the version I have on my car. The price is cheap too. But before you buy this are you planning to get another tuning device? I ended up getting one because larger injectors can't be controlled with just the MAFT alone. If not, then just get the chip and get it put in. You could do it yourself or have someone do it for cheap. I am not good at soldering things:(

From looking at it .. The chip sits on another chip thats soldered to the board..So i dont think the new chip needs to be re-soldered
