Hello fellow dsmer's I just got my FIC 850's today and I have a a few guidance questions. First when I got the flow rate chart all flow rate are rated at 43psi. Having a first 1g the stock fuel pressure is 37psi. So my question is should I turn up afpr to 43 or keep it at 37? second questions I have the GM maf translator should I just zero everything our again besides the injector selector of coarse and start logging and adjusting from there? I know that the maf-t is not the best for tuning but its all I got for now. Thank you for any input and advise I appreciate it.:D

One more thing what should I do about the fuel pressure? It doesn't say anything bout that on fullthrottle or at least that I could find. I know that the 1g are suppose to be at 37, but wouldn't this effect the flow rate of the injectors sense there tested at 43psi? thank you any input is appreciated.

If you plan on using the stock ECU don"t turn up the fuel pressure. Your 1g base fuel pressure will only cause the 850s to flow about 810cc max. I do not recommend trying to control those injectors with the MAFT alone. It's not gonna run like it should. Try to get some other type of tuning device.

Thank you for the input and advise. I knew I shouldn't have gotten this maf-t. I figured it wouldn't be good enough once I wanted to put bigger injectors and turn up the boost some more. There's a member on here I think his name is MY1GDSM or something like that I'm thinking about having him put a tune chip for me. He seems like a respectable guy, but its either that or try and save up for ecmlink, but in that case I'll be looking at close to $1000 buck for that, for the software, chip, eprom ecu, and the gm Maf to stock connector, and unfortunately I don't have that kind of cash right now. I was hoping that the maf-t would be able to handle the bigger injectors for now as I think my injectors are wearing out. My data logger says there hitting 105% duty cycle and WOT, and I'm only pushing 11psi, and also under WOT I'm getting up to 7 counts of knock sometimes. Does this sound like I'm diagnosing it right or is there something else going on? I've checked for boost leaks, timing and there fine? any other suggestions?

The MAF-T is perfectly fine for 850's. Don't let people feed you that BS. You just need to get a good tune on the car (which can be tricky using only the MAF-T). Is the MAF-T the best to use for 850's, NO. Are there better options, YES. But you can use the MAF-T and the injectors together just fine. Save your money for DSMLink, but for the time being, use the MAF-T.

Oh! okay Thank you that makes me feel happier. As I was starting to get pretty bummed because I didn't want to waste the time putting the 850's in if it was going to run like s*** on going only the maf-t. Maybe I'll just try it anyways and see how it goes:hellyeah: again thank you for giving me the peace of mind.

I wouldn't call it perfectly fine. The maf translator does the same exact thing that the safc does. IT hides airflow from the ecu. You will get WAY excessive timing using it compensate for injectors that big. 650's are about as big as you want to go with no way to adjust the timing. I would highly reccomend finding an eprom ecu and have a custom chip burned for the injector compensation.

On pump gas you can expect to have a very hard time getting a tune that isn't going to knock like crazy.

Thank you for also pointing this out. This is exactly why I run DSMlink in conjunction with the MAFT.

So would you consider 7 counts of knocks crazy? I only get it at mid to WOT and it usually just hits 7 then drops back down to zero on my logger. I'll get 1-2 every now and again just cruising around with no load I guessing this is phantom knock? Thanks for your input I'm just trying to get as much knowledge as I can about tuning stuff. Pretty much a newbie when it comes to controlling air and fuel mixtures with timing and etc.

My plans are defiantly to get dsmlink in the near future hopefully soon then later. Again thank you for your input everything helps. :thumb:
