So last night i put new lock cylinders in my 2gb and now my door handle on the outside doesnt work, i was actually late for work thismorning because i had to cram myself through the sunroof (its parked in a garage)
Is this a common problem? or could i have bent a rod of some sort taking this thing apart?

Either way im frustrated. Ive seen alot of posts on here relative to this issue, but everyone says to WD40 it, and mines been swimming in it for about an hour

any advice?

Auto locks, it looks like the rods arent pulling the plastic pieces, theyre just sliding by them, is there a way to tighten them?

What do you mean by "sliding by them"?? Make sure the rods themselves are not all bent up, and make sure they are snapped in really good to their respective plastic clips. I hate messing with door bits inside the door because there's like, no room, but it can be done. I had to the do the actuator on the hubbys gst, and after quite a few choice words and some good scratches on my arm, I got it all in and operating correctly. I'm currently dreading having to replace my exterior door handle on my gs because I know its going to be a pain in the ass LOL.

the rod that leads from the outer handle to the mechanism has a slot in it with a white piece sticking through, instead of pushing it down to release the door, it slides right past it. Its irritating.
the inner door handles work fine, im going to pull the fuse for the Power locks on break in about an hour, the power locks dont have enough power to unlock the thing.

i bought the repair kit from rcaz.com and its worked great so far, i highly recommend the kit, but the re-install hasnt gone so swimmingly =|

if it worked fine before you changed the locks, i know what your problem is. That rod that opens the door from the outside, well on the inside of the door when you go open it what happens is it's not pushing down far enough to pop the door open so what i did was grab a pair of needle nose pilers and pushed down on the mechanisim it's slef not the rod! Than i had an extra orange plastic piece from another door handle(you know the little orange piece on the cylinder lock) I wedged that piece between the were the rod slides up and down on the mecanisim. It opens and pops right open everytime!! Hope this helps

Yeah sometimes the aftermarket door handles are not made quite to spec. It won't push the rod as far as the old one as stated. I usually just bend the rod to make it work.

The handle is a factory piece, i just switched out the key cylinders. Im going to pull everything apart when i get home at 8.
Il mess with it a little more, thanks guys, i appreciate it!
