I own a 1991 eagle talon tsi.

The problem I am having with the car is everytime I go to accelerate and the boost gauge gets to about 7 lbs of boost thats when it starts to misfire making the car not accelerate til i let off the gas.

The check engine light doesn't come on.

I've replaced the spark plugs and wires, throttle body, maf and soon i'll be replacing the throttle body position sensor. Also when i cover part of the maf it accelerates perfectly fine. It also runs great when it is cold outside until the engine warms up to normal temp then starts running bad again.

Help please! :banghead:

I tried the homemade boost leak test that somebody else had posted on this website. It appears as though I dont have one. I didnt hear anything?

How many psi did you pump it up to, and how long did it hold. Also quit replacing parts until you know that they are bad. Which plugs are you running and what gap did you set them to?

Ive had the same problem on my 1995. I just put a Holset HX35 in it and the car won't rev past 2500 RPM. It will just crackle and pop like its hitting a rev limiter. I think my main problems is due to that I havent tuned it for the new turbo (if anyone has any insight on this, please inform me. Thanks) So (Stupid questions alert) is your car properly tuned. Maybe you arent getting enough fuel? or Getting too much fuel? (Disclaimer, Im not an expert on this, just seeing if thisll help)

I pumped in about 15 psi. I didnt time it because i wasnt aware i had to. I have NGK copper spark plugs and i gapped them at .38. Also it runs great when it is cold out until the engine heats up to normal temp then it start running bad again.

I just brought them down to .028 and it is still doing it. Also my spark plugs were black. Why is that? Also when i cover part of the maf the run accelerates no problem.
