Well i drive past my talon everyday on my way to work in an 06 accord, reason being is that im waiting till i get paid again to get the tranny replaced. But it kills me just watching her sit.:banghead:
Just looking at the potential makes me so impatient.

What do you guys do in the meantime while waiting for your next huge mod or next upgrade?

I know how you feel always wanted a 1g awd finally got one. I am doing a complete rebuild of the whole car. While i am wanting on money or the parts to come in im usually out fixing the cheap things or the small stuff just to have it done so i wouldnt have to worry about it later. Or bring my son to the work shop and have him learn how to work on the car

niceee, yeah i have a 97 front end coming in next week, and some headlights on the way too. but other than that ive found time to do some detailing and cleaning. but the tranny is the only thing stopping it from moving. i start her once a day just because i like the exhaust :D

Mines been sitting for almost a month, in that time ive detailed the inside, truck space, and got new rims, ordered front end and headlights. last thing is tranny. :D

My eclipse has been sitting for a year, this 28th. I build the motor once just to have a rod blow through the side of the motor and waiting on the money to buy a new block and all, I spend a few bucks here and there to buy cloth to do the interior, wood to build a custom box, or doing wire tucks and painting the engine bay, but if your car is sitting at a shop its not like you can go in there and work on the car.

Whoaaaaa, thats a long time! cant wait for her to be done tho right? the beauty about mine is that its just a tranny job, and its in my front yard so im out there everyday at least once to start it up and make sure its all ok.

Gosh man i know exactly what your going threw here. For undisclosed reasons i cant drive right now, and i just got my car legal five days ago. We've had the nicest weather we've had all year, and my baby is sitting a mere 20ft away from my window at this very moment. Ive been in it everyday up and down the block a few times LOL. However this has given me the time to take care of the small stuff. I smoked my corner lights and reverse lights, got the reverse lights working again. Hooked up my washer fluid hoses. Cut down and fit my carbon fiber shift knob on. Detailed every stinkin inch of the thing. Replaced a couple burnt out bulbs. Started touchin up the engine bay a little today. Since you have some decent down time on your hands, go grab that valve cover off and do some trick work to it. Double check your hoses and connections. BLT her, oil change her. For me, as long as im doing something to make Ms. Boosty better, im happy.

Just little things here and there to keep calm, and work on the parts list and the hp output that i want... research, research, research.

Welcome to my world. I let my baby sit through winter every year in storage. 4-5 months. Hopefully global warming kicks in sooner than later. Last year in March it was 52 outside. Not its 78! :D

Ahh iowa sure was nice today. I just had to take mine for a spin today

I know what you mean, I got rid of my last DSM for different reasons a couple of years ago. But I finally just recently picked another one up! So now im back in the saddle again, but it was a longgg couple of years without one!

For you guys getting your car ready for the road, best of luck to you. Its going to be awesome the first day you take her down the road, and every day after that. As for letting it set up because of weather, just drive it. I drive mine all winter long and the summer. Summers in MS are hot and I removed my a/c compressor, but I wouldn't trade it for anything or any other vehicle. Embrace the experience.

Haven't gotten that far yet, I'm still in the process of finding a good in-between car, but when I do I imagine I'll do small little repairs here and there while I wait for the big stuff.

Mine's waiting on the new 6 bolt to be finished :thumb: While it's been down, I've completely stripped the interior panels and cleaned all kinds of gunk and scrape marks off of them. Took out all the seats and shampooed the carpets, went through all the random wires inside the car and half of them weren't even connected to anything. I went ahead and eliminated 90% of useless wires and vacuum lines inside the engine bay, and just did every bit of cleaning to the body, interior and under the hood. Car looks amazing and as soon as your car is fixed, you don't have to do anything but drive her :D

Mine has not moved since last july ish.Everytime I go out back door, look out window, or go to the other car, yeah it's sitting there.I should put the bumper on upside down so it looks like a sad face.

HA my DSM has been sitting for 6 frickkin years=) Im hoping that the light at the end of the tunnel is sometime in late august but like all DSM's we will see. When i look outside to see her sitting there, I will than walk out and pull the cover up then just dream of the day I can jump in and drive to the 7-11 =( I can't stand all this waiting. But to the OP good luck, I hope you get her back and running again.

Wow, that's a long time! That's gotta hurt man, good luck. I just got my first DSM about 4 months ago and I couldn't imagine having it sit that long.

in the almost 2 years i've had this one. i've done one full tear down and rebuild. drove her roughly 1500 miles. and now has been sitting since last june wainting for the second tear down so i can do some more stuff i couldnt the first time. in the mean time i walk out and sit in the car. i make reving and blow off noises while i shift her like a little kid! :) can't wait to drive her again!!!!!

I drive the sbc383 feiro and the mitsu's sit in the garage.

I am putting the 98awd Spyder back together after it has been sitting apart for over 10 years. I bought it brand new off the lot. Also work on my Evo 3 that sits in the garage also it has been down almost 2 years waiting for a new 2.4 to be machined and put in and a new roof skin then I will paint it.
