I was just curious of what turbo options are available.

From what I read it is just stock appearing and the evo guys can get away with running some BIG turbos. I could have been reading incorrectly but it would be awesome to chase down my options because I would love to participate this year. And id love to know if I can run a fp red.......20g..... 68hta... Or just a 16g....

Again this could be a dumb question that I'm just thinking about to hard but I've yet to really see a post about it so maybe someone else is thinking the same thing.

First off what car is this for? If it is a DSM you can run any td05 housing turbo. You just gotta make sure the car looks pretty much stock.

pretty sure the car can look how ever you want, the only rules are no nitrous, and stock apearing turbo..

On a DSM it has to fit behind the stock TD05H cover. Good luck getting a Red wheel to fit behind a cover that small.

The rules are much in favor of Evo owners- the larger compressor cover can obviously welcome much larger compressors. ;)

Thank u sir. That explains it for me. Was just very curious.

68 hta is the biggest offering for the class...

ER is racing again in this class so dont bother..LOL

  • T25 - 2G oem turbo
  • T28 - looks like 2G oem turbo
  • 13G - auto 1g oem turbo
  • 14B - manual 1g oem turbo
  • 16g - any varient small, big, E3
  • F68
  • Custom 20G* - Most turbo rebuilders can make this up.

That's pretty much the list.

- * has to have the 14/16G type compressor housing and use a stock type bolt up turbine housing. I don't believe the 10cm T3 flanged mitsubishi turbine housing(came on some 20g) is legal either.

We just broke the center diff ring gear in the little auto a couple weekends ago at the track so it IS possible for us to lose that class. We could also red light... Granted this was the first time we've broken any hard parts in the transmission of the little auto in over 1000 low-10/high-9 second passes over the last 5 years or so. :p Word is that we may bring a couple more cars with us as well...

To the OP, I'd throw an HTA68 on the car and be done with it.

That was also on a junkyard, 20+ year old trans, that only had valvebody and clutch packs. A new trans like Jeff's with cryo'd internals is already underway...as are some other mods.

That would only be true if both cars ran in the same class.
