do u know anyone or do u have racing seat? my favorite seat is spraco but it cost like $800. i cant afford that. is there cheaper than that or another brand of seat like sparco but cheaper?

I enjoy how we exploit demeaning people based on their appearance preferences. If the guy wants racing seats so that his vehicle has a certain appeal then so be it. If he wants them to start serious racing and get into events and whatnot - then I would suggest laying all of the facts out there. He clearly stated he wants it for aesthetics, so lay the hell off with the "lawlawlawl you just want it to look faster. It's not race legal, noob!"-ish comments and either answer the question the question in the respects he's asking or avoid it. It's ridiculous.

In my opinion, I enjoy the look of racing seats regardless. I would suggest Bride but I haven't priced a set of racing seats since I first learned what the hell a piston was. Just make sure what you're buying won't pop off the rails the first time you take a turn. Look for sturdy frames and a quality guarantee is always a plus. Follow up by checking Google for reviews on the seat you are considering purchasing.

If the OP can't afford Sparco, he definitely can't afford Bride (I recognize the fact you said you hadn't priced them, so just as an FYI, they're much more costly). They also don't have bolt-in brackets for DSMs, so custom brackets will be required.

I can't endorse buying a racing seat for looks - weight savings, racing use, used in conjunction with a roll cage and harness, sure, but not solely on looks.

OP, look at Weapon-R seats if you're only interested in "looks". I think their stuff is made in the same factory as some other, more reputable brand name seats.

Actually, he said nothing about aesthetics in the first post and then talked quite a bit about being comfortable (which includes being able to see out the windshield) in the third post.

OP (and all others): think about why you are doing a mod and tell us in the first post, please. The easiest way to keep people like me out of your threads is to make it clear that it's cosmetic in the very first post.

That the exactly what im saying. Now u know what I mean.

Aye - I've never really looked into race seats besides my initial pricing of some basic ones years back and thought " Eh, don't want to drop that kind of cash on seats before functionality." and completely disregarded the area. I know they're a tad costly but not entirely sure on the range. That info on the rails is also great to know for future reference. ;) Either way, the OP should be sure that if he is buying something off brand that it won't snap into pieces on the first sharp turn.

well it sound little too crazy. Any seat wont snap off for sharp turn. i never hear any of that or no one i know of that ever happen to them

:p Don't take things too literal.

im just saying. does it could happen?

Anything is possible. That's why you should make sure that you inspect anything you purchase like this. Make sure it is made of durable material without flaw areas, cracks, breaks, or overall sloppily assembled which could cause it to break apart when supporting a 150+ object which shifts and moves as the vehicle goes around turns. I mean, I would personally hate to have my head laying in the back seat everytime I launched. Wouldn't you?

Go to the fourm you are allowed to post in, (In your case Mikey the Newbie fourm and a few others) and click the button "New Thread"

I'll consider myself [sic]'d for the rest of this thread....

Google search "IS300 Bride knock-off" - couple guys, IS300 owners and others, bought knock-off Brides and they did in fact snap off. Probably wasn't after the first turn, but shortly thereafter. It does happen.

Just look out for some Evo Recaro's

i have some GHETTO ass BOMZ racing seats in my car from the previous owner and have been on the lookout for over 4 months trying to find some Evo Recaros for about 500 bucks but everything i been finding is about 800-1200.

Ill keep waiting though, it aint my daily.

Why do you need a pad on your seat to see? I'm only an inch taller than you and can see in all my 2g's just fine, and my mom who is 5' 1" can see just fine in them as well. But for cheap, good quality racing seats go to Summit Racing's website. Summit Racing SUM-G1130L - Summit Racing® Sport Seats - Overview - SummitRacing.com Me and my dad picked up a set of these for our drag car, they're realitively comfy and work great. You will have to make some brackets to put them in the car though.
