I'm going to buy a complete 6-bolt block that had a torn ripped timing belt of a 1990 gsx and has 90,000 miles on it:hellyeah:. I actually bought the complete head from the guy a few days ago. After I took the valve cover off. I discovered that the head bolts were Hexes(Allen wrench style). Are the hexes OEM. I need help on how to determine if its a virgin block visually(Besides just looking at the head gasket).

Oem head bolts are 10mm hex bolts. You can look at the pistons as well as they should look like this

So this engine has never been cracked, But is there any other test to determine if its been worked on before?

I would say if you are that nervous by it then why not take it apart? You can learn a few things in that process as well.

True I mean it is only $50 for the complete block. Just wanted to learn a couple of detail in the process.

You'll never know if it's been torn apart. You can check the deck to see if it's been milled or not but it would require a machine shop. If you're rebuilding it anyway do you honestly need to know? Or just curious?

Yes I do plan to rebuild it. But I highly doubt it has been machined or worked on because, Like the guys said it still has OEM Head bolts, It only has 90k on it, was driven by a woman(I know a GSX), and I believe the timing belt was never changed.
