I personally wouldnt buy someone elses project unless i know everything was done right. Any receipts with the car?

Whats the seller asking?

hes asking 5g im going to test drive it before anything , give a good look to my best extent

Make sure you look for rust. You dont wanna pay for just a good running car because if its falling apart due to rust then you will really regret it. Check underneath and in the rear quarter panels at the bottom wheel well for rust. Also make sure you check your strut towers for any rust signs.

414 awhp on pump gas with an evo 3? That sends flags up for me, I don't think there is anyone who has hit that kind of whp with that turbo on pump gas. Buyer beware in my opinion, but hell what do I know.

^ +1 Just a point from experience don't buy someone elses headache look for a stock car best bet

Or if he has all the paper work and can have someone speak up for there work then good ahead but thats highly unlikely

definitely sounds a little off. as said I would check the receipts and work done. any proof of numbers?

....

I saw that add on kijiji.ca myself a little while back, looked bogus, which usually leads me to believe it's bough cheap from one owner and then embellished by the second owner that doesn't know too much about it to sell it for more. I'm not saying don't check it out, but make sure to do the field work to make sure nothing else is being made-up

yeah the hp claim was a little fishey to me , im going to check it out today if it runs and looks good ill probably buy it in a few days, even if it dosent run like a 400 hp machine that dosent bother me can always use a project car anywho ;)

thanks for the input guys

IMO, I'd stay clear, with that kind of money you can find a near stock one and build it your way. Its always a bad idea getting into somebody else's project.

He's also in Canada, Ontario; that's the usual rate for these cars. Cheaper and you get a money pit that doesn't run or is about to die.

414awhp on 650's... doubt it. red flag. 25psi of boost on 650's... big red flag. 650's don't flow enough to keep AFR's safe at 25psi from a 16g. That car probably has so much detonation it's crazy. I'd get a bore scope and look at the top of the pistons. If they are all pitted I would walk away. Do that along with compression test, check turbo shaft play, ball joints, tie rods, rust...

so when to check it out the only problem with it is that the rpm's drop on the car when coming to a stop .. said he thinks its just the idle is to low and the set screw in the throttle body is stripped , i can get the screw out no problem .. any ideas guys , thinking of throwing 4700 at him to take it or leave it ..

thanks again guys

Is the BOV recirculated?

Made up numbers on mild mods, $5k is way too much even in Canada unless the shell is extraordinarily clean, and even then its iffy.

I would be checking the crank for play before making any sort of deal.

so did u buy this thing? Because just about everyone on this post said walk away from it, and be patient for the right one to come along, then u said u were gonna offer him 4700. I see nothing about an a/f gauge, nothing about a fuel pump or rewire. Nothing about an afpr, fmic, etc....the supporting mods just arent there to reach even 300 hp in my mind, without the pump and rewire u can kiss those sweet little internals goodbye at 16psi, let alone 25. LISTEN to the majority and let that one pass, you could buy one with a blown motor for a few grand, and buy a nicely built one for 3 and be right where you'd be with that one.

I would have to completely agree with this. To the OP, I would either get the exact info from the car and a legit price or walk and find another dsm. Either way best of luck which ever way you go.

I personally would not give that much for a 95 with that many miles, but if your lookin to spend some money, you can always pull the ingine out and re-do everything. I bought a 97 GST with what they said was a "Re-built" 4g63t.. when all they did was clean it and roll the miles back on it.. i only gave 1500[ but that's beside the fact.

its possible that the screw needs to be adjusted or replaced. It was around $8 for me to replace from Mitsubishi but mine idled too high around 2k-2500 rpm's.
