Hello my names gregg. Recently pick up a 1990 tsi awd talon. Owner said the timing belt broke on it and bent some valves. He replaced the belt it starts but runs like crap! So im just going to pull the head off an put new valves in. Then its time for some mods! Car is currently all stock. But tht will change very soon after i do the head an do some research on here an see what the best mods are!

Welcome to tuners, have fun with it and use to learn the search function. Also before you start throwing mods at it make sure you do all your maintenance first.

Thanks guys! I have all the maintience and repairs under controller. My dad took the complete shop manual from the dealership he works at for me! So i wont need to ask many questions on tht ;) mainly ill just need help in the future for mods. But ill make sure to do my homework!

Welcome to the World of US!...haha...hey by chance what did you give up for it in $....and photos!

I paid 1200. I figured that was a decent deal. The car is super clean with only one little rust spot. Its Got 140K on it. The inside is spotless. Also has 17 in black 5 spoke wheels with new goodyear tires. I priced the tires they were like 750 alone. Also another reason i bought it is because its all stock and unmolested (besides the header) and the previous owner has owned it since 1993!!! I just wanted one i could build on my own. And i got what id consider one heck of a deal! Ill get pics later when i get a chance.

before you replace your valves you might want to look at the valve guides and make sure they didn't get damaged .

Ya i was going to. But im thinking about just taking it to the local machine shop that did my camaro heads and have them go through the head. But idk what itll cost yet. Just got it pushed into the garage. Gonna start tearing it apart tomorrow. Thanks Guys!

Heres what it looks like!!!

looks good. if you are going to mod it i would recomend putting in arp studs now so you dont have to do it later since you are already doing head work

Thanks guys! Im just itchin to tear into it! Tryin to locate a good used head to just swap but not much on craigslist. Thanks again!!!

so i pulled the valve cover off and found a rocker arm off. Its in time. Think i should still pull the head off? Or try it and see maybe a valve didnt get bent and its just that? Thanksguys!

its up for sale now. I pulled the head off. i cant find anyone around my area that will do it. and i cant find a decent head for sale. and i just got my first school loan bill! I cant post in the for sale section yet :(...Needs to go. If anyone is interested text me at 1-765-469-3476
