I feel a bit sad today. Just read in a closed thread that English Racing has lost it’s love for DSMs and only really does EVOs. While Evos are a major part of our business we have in no way lost the love for DSMs

I would like to think we are one of the last real DSM shops in the country. The main drag cars we race are DSMs. We keep a minimum of 5 1G and 2G eprom ECUs in stock at all times. Always have V3 1G and 2G ECM Links in stock. So I can up grade your V2 on the spot. Or diagnose your car in a very timely manner. We have 1-2 6 bolt blocks built and ready to go most of the time. We keep FP race manifolds and many other parts. I may have one of the largest used DSM parts selection in the NW. We have tuned over 200 different DSMs on our dyno in the 3 years we have had it now.

I have done many tuning trips only tuning DSMs in California, Colorado, Maryland, etc. I would say out of our 600K in business last year 40% of it was still DSMs even the 1990’s. While I am a big pusher of ECM link V3 I can still tune any combo of DSM there is.

Not trying to make a sales pitch here just sad that there are DSMers local who think we only like EVOs even though all our recent records and accomplishments have been with 1Gs.

There are oviously a big demand for evo's these days, and to keep the money profit going, after all business is business. I understand where it seems you had to put dsm's on the back burner and take care of what was hot on demand but I also never doubt you would turn down a dsm.But I always will say you guys love your dsm's and even taking mine there you still can break down dsm's like no mans business.:thumb:

Hey Luke, I just picked up a 1997 GST from the Portland Area and am putting it back together and should hopefully have it running in a few weeks.

I will be need ing your help getting it tuned and running properly.

BTW got rid of the EVO X. Had to get a bigger car for the growing Family.

That is retarded, you guys are one of the few shops still pushing the envelope with DSMs and have actually developing new products in the last few years I think there is only like 3 shops right now doing that.

I'm surprised I still see posts asking where to go in WA for DSM or EVO work.

Keep up the hard work and let us know about those GSC S2Rs!

Lucas, whats the word on upgraded auto transfer cases? Are ya'll going to be selling these or is Buschur going to be the distributor?

Hands down English Racing is one of the most knowledgable shops when it comes to DSM's. I've called and talked to them several times when I ran into problems with my automatic build.

Thanks guys make me feel a little better.

We will be getting the cases done. Alex from Dog Box is helping. He is sending us a shaft so our local place wont have a learning curve.

Lucas if it weren't for english racing I wouldn't be the passionate dsm'r that I am I mean I just did an entire timing belt and head gasket job for this kid that reeally needed the help for free I gained nothing at all except wrenching hours out of it. What I'm saying is you guys are inspiring and very passionate people for dsm's and the dsm community. You guys are one of the most profound and amazing shops in the dsm/evo world. I'm glad to be a local in the pacific north west because of english racing. Keep up all the great work

I didn't know you had so much in stock. Great to know! Also when is the next time you think you'll be in California? I Would def get a tune and some parts if you could bring some with you. I know 91oct sucks but im sure you'll get more out of my setup then i can currently. I was the guy who showed up late to the DSM Wyotech Tuning meet recently. My girl was tired from our road trip so i had to leave early. I was about to get a tune right then and there, but she wasn't having it HAHA. I would come up to you guy's but it's a hella of a trip for my DD. Thanks, Stay Boosted!

Also i still believe you guy's are one of the top DSM shops in our country, if not the top! Does no one watch your guy's video's, proof is there for sure!! Keep it up and don't listen to the hater's, thts what they do...hate! Stay Boosted

The only shop that will ever see my 2g is English Racing. Good people,.. English keeps the DSM's alive, and also works on EVO's, that's how I look at it.

The first time I showed up to English Racing was for a timing belt, and then a tune. Then we realized I had linkV2, so he was able to upgrade me to LinkV3 on the spot. It was late and dark out, but Lucas called the shop and had them bring down the stuff to upgrade to V3. I was impressed.

Well for any of us who are local we know it's total bullshit.

I've only been to your shop a couple times when you were rebuilding my transmission, but you had a bagillion DSMs in your parking lot.

By the way I'm getting really sick of not being able to find the source of why my heat isn't turning on. I might get pissed and just have you guys fix it LOL.

Are you kidding me Lucas?

Thats complete bullsh!tt.
Your core, backbone, and roots go way back to the large DSM era. Yeah, DSMs aren't as popular anymore, because lets face it, times move and so do the interests. There are the hard core DSMers out there that will have theirs until they die, and like you, you work on them as long as there is demand.

Business is business, you work on whats availible to you, you dont get to choose how much DSMs/Evos you get to work on, nor the ratio. Its completly out of your control. I'm pretty sure though, you would never, ever turn down a DSM, it made your business the way it is.

I'm a do-it myselfer as most DSMers are, so if I can do it, I will. If not, ER sees my DSM. I will have my 1G until I die, and as long as ER is around, I will continue to drive hours to them for their great dedication, service, and good, yet affordable work.

Thanks for getting my tranny case swapped out last time I was there, the trans is still running great and works awsome.

For the record, ER proudly does DSMs, so bring em' there guys!

Lucas, PM me on setting up a date to meet with you for a tune, methanol kit install. Thanks :)

Really I don't see why you would get shit for doing evos. They are so similar It's crazy, these cars are so old now everything breaks constany so I can see why the market has shifted towards the EVO as it is a better car and it even uses the same motor. Not to mention how old evos are getting so the price is dropping rapidly on them.

Hello Lucas! You will see my evo soon enough for a balls-out tune!

English Racing FTW
