I sometimes worry about what would happen if I was going 140mph and the hood flew up LOL. My question is how fast people have went with the OEM hood & Latch? Maybe it's just not a problem, and I shouldn't worry about it, not sure. Any thoughts on this?

The factory manual says it's only good for about 25mph.Anything over that and call safelite.

Lmfao...

To op, at 140+ there's more to worry about then your hood flying up.. You will be fine as long as its fully closed. That's where most people that have it fly up and hit the windshield problems are, they never fully close it.

197mph logged with dsmlink, stock hood and stock latch before my cf with pins. I tested on a closed airport and no problems, supoposedly my Tranny is tested to go 205 so i wanted to check it but ran out of pavement.

Well i can say that with a carbon fiber hood not latched and going 50mph it will fly up and shatter your windshield. I know from in the car experience.

isn't the "hump" on our hoods rated at 205 MPH and adding a 3 star vinyl will help it get to 212?

Anyhow, serious answer now, depends on which direction the wind is coming from and which direction and the speed at which you're traveling. I live over in the Desert and i've seen a few hoods fly around out here and that's from going only 75 maybe 80 but the winds are blowing left to right (as you're sitting in your vehicle) at about 60+ MPH sustained. Everything has a variable and situation will always dictate for an ambiguous question.
