Here is the final design for my aluminum VC plate and baffles. They are made with a tooth in slot design for maximum strength and to make locating the baffles easy . If you have any question let me know.

Brain I need to get info abot being a freelance member on here. I do not want to step not want to step on toes. This was ment to be a look what I made thread. Now I feel it's turning it hey I made these who want them. This is not intent of this area.

Do those tabs need to get welded or what?

Can someone enlighten me as to the purpose of the baffles? Im about to put a Hyundai 4g63 VC on and I cleaned it as best I could but if I could cut the baffles off and clean whatever is left under there, then leave them off and reinstall the VC, whats the downside to leaving them out? This is a DD car just FYI not a dragster :)

I'm also not sure on how well Kevin's baffles will fit a Hyundai valve cover, as there are differences in the baffles. He based his design off of a Mitsubishi valve cover.

It works with both! I made sure of this. Esp. since I like the Hyundai valve cover better my self. ;)

Their main purpose is to separate liquid oil from the crankcase gases in the top of the motor, and they may also play a role in oil distribution for the upper valve train; although I'm not sure how large an effect they really have on that.

This is exactly what they do. They help decrease the oil that makes it to your catch can.

Thanks Craig.

Kevin

Check out how crisp the cuts are with a laser table. It's amazing how tight they can get the tolerances compared to a plasma table. I'm happy.
